Got up to check into fight to Phoenix tomorrow. Was refreshing right on time and got B59. Womp womp. At least it’s a short flight. Then did a couple hours of work before finally venturing down to start my gambling day. But first Bacon Nation for lunch. I’ve been wanting to try the reverse BLT. It was interesting but not amazing. I think this was my third visit to Bacon Nation and it’s almost certainly going to be my last. I’m disappointed - the D could really use a casual spot, but this place just can’t seem to get its act together. I was sitting at the counter watching the open kitchen. So much confusion among wait staff and cooks. And food sitting under lights forever. And things getting sent back because they were wrong. I haven’t been in the business for almost two decades, but I still wanted to jump in as expo and get shit running better. First buy in at Vue Bar went quick. Taking another shot at it now.
When I went to Sedona from Vegas, I flew to/from Phoenix. It was such a short flight. I envy people with flights that short.
Second bullet lasted a little longer before disappearing. Now down $200 on $2,500 coin in for the day.
Damn, I was about to type hit those top two. I looked at the football game and refreshed the page and it’s already done! Now get the Royal as you usually do.
Next buy in went better. In addition to the juicy straight flush I got a passel of quads. Now only down $40 on $5,500 coin in. Off to Plaza for dinner with a friend.
I understand why it closed at it always seemed I was the only customer but I liked the coffee shop they had before Bacon Nation.
I'm curious about your VP strategy. When you aren't doing well do you switch games? Or switch machines? Wondering what others do when you aren't hitting much.
Switching machines seems silly to me. The random number generators have no idea whether I'm winning or losing.
At the D Vue Bar, switching games is a bad idea. All the other games other than Bonus Poker at the Vue Bar have pretty poor paytables. But at all the other D Bars except Vue, Bonus Poker Is a total shit paytable. As for switching machines, you can if it makes you feel better, but legally speaking, it should make no difference if the paytable is equivalent.
I don't really switch games or machines a ton. But sometimes will if the casino I'm in has multiple "good" games available. In Reno in a few days, I'll probably bounce back and forth between NSUD and 9/6 JOB depending on mood. Once I figure out which game I want to play, I usually settle in and don't change until I get bored or restless or tired. Basically once I realize I'm starting to make mistakes or that I'm not enjoying it anymore, then it's time to get up and do something else - eat, slot, nap, wander around, whatever.
Had a great dinner with a friend at Oscar’s. Thanks to him for treating using some comps he had. #Winning. Pink Drink Oysters and Shrimp Bread Caesar Salad Mac and Cheese Pinot Cheesecake
Sadly after dinner VP session was not good. Lost my $260 TITO on ~$2,000 coin in. No quads or better to take pictures. Luckily slotting around was good and I am up $425 for the day thanks mostly to one nice hit on a quarter denom slot.
It was a zoo for the wild card round too. I'm impressed you got a machine and that there was drink service. Looking forward to royals and seeing how you spend the entire folio credit in Reno.
I’m assuming you’re at the ‘Pens game as I type. They’re currently down 1-0 … you need to cheer harder! GG
Man, I need to start paying attention to/going to Canucks games again. #bandwagoner. Too many years of losing and now they are #1 in the western conference, ahead of VGK. @Jer knows what a Canuck is
