VegasMessageBoard.com will not share, sell nor disclose any private email address or other information gathered from any member.
VegasMessageBoard.com (hereafter referred to as "VMB") uses moderators and administrators to monitor the content and appearance of messages posted. However, considering the real time nature of the message board, it is impossible for us to monitor or review every message. Therefore, you agree that neither VMB, nor any person or entity associated with it, will be held responsible for the content, accuracy, completeness or validity of any information posted. All messages express the views of its author.
Advertising & Promotions:All advertisements, solicitations, posts for personal financial gain, sports betting pools, posts containing an affiliate link or referral code, gofundme links, posts to drive traffic to a message board, website or blog, and any other posts containing promotion are not allowed and will be removed as spam without notice by VMB staff.
Posting spam will result in a user name, their email address and/or IP address being banned from the message board. If you wish to make a post of this kind for a legitimate reason, please get pre-approval from the owners of VMB. You may contact Sonya by private message, or email via the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.
People who join and participate as regular members will obtain the ability to create a "Signature" after a certain number of posts. Once members have that ability, they will be allowed to have a text link to their personal website or blog included in that signature. No graphics will be allowed, just a line of text that includes a link. No more than two lines of text and two links are allowed per signature.
Usernames:Usernames that are offensive, inflammatory or otherwise deemed inappropriate by VMB administrators/moderators may be modified, edited or deleted at any time without notice.
Usernames that are, in part or in full, a URL, company or business name are not allowed. These usernames and all posts will be deleted.
Members are not allowed to sign up with more than one user name. Multiple usernames may be merged and the newest one will be deleted. Creating duplicate accounts may result in an infraction, board ban or restriction of posting privileges.
If you would like to change your username, please contact Sonya by private message.
Signatures:Once a user contributed the minimum number of posts (typically 5-10 posts), they will obtain the ability to create a "Signature". Once you have that ability, you are able to add a countdown timer and/or a signature at the bottom of every post. As explained in the Advertising section, users are allowed to have a text link to their website or blog, but advertising graphics will not be allowed.
Users with more than 100 posts may have up to two (2) countdown timers in their signature at one time.
Posting Messages:You agree that you will not post any copyrighted material without the express permission of the copyright holder. Links to articles and blog posts from other sites need to have a summary paragraph posted along with the link. Posts that consist mainly of a link to another website or blog will be deleted.
Messages posted in any section may be moved to a more appropriate location by one of our administrators or moderators without notice.
VMB is intended as a place to discuss Las Vegas. It is not a sounding board to discuss politics or religion. Any message or thread that veers away from the topic of Las Vegas may be locked, moved and/or deleted without notice at any time. Any opinions on the government itself, its policies, practices, or laws is political discussion. It doesn't mean "no partisan politics", it means no comments on ANYTHING involving a political opinion. Likewise for discussions where people talk about "big government", "nanny state laws", etc. Bottom line, if it feels like you are posting a political opinion, it's likely to be a violation of this rule. This also applies to political jokes and posts made in jest. All messages that contain political commentary will be deleted and an infraction will be issued.
Users are expected to show respect for each other. Members can disagree with each other without being disagreeable. That means that we don't threaten, defame, troll, or insult each other. Messages that are determined to be personal attacks by VMB administrators/moderators will be deleted and an infraction will be issued.
As we are all adults here, some colorful language is acceptable, however excessive use of profanity should be avoided. Posts that disparage any person or group because of their race, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual preference or religion may be deleted or edited with or without prior notice.
Comments that are not productive additions to the conversation may be deleted without notice. VMB encourages witty banter and humorous discussions, however "snarky" answers to sincere questions are not helpful and may be removed. For example, when someone asks what to do with their kids and you suggest Disneyland, you are not helping. If you do not have a helpful comment or productive addition to add to a thread, please refrain from sharing it with us.
Threads promoting, discussing or defaming other boards will be removed. Disputes and/or issues with other message boards, blogs or websites should not be aired on VegasMessageBoard.com. If you have a problem with another site or an issue with a member you recognize from another board, please discuss it with them somewhere other than on VMB.
VMB is not a dating site or place to look for a "hook-up". There are other sites out there where those posts would be more appropriate. Any post soliciting sex will be removed.
If you find a post that you believe violates these standards, please do not escalate the issue, but instead use the "Report Post Icon" (which can be found in the lower left corner of every message and private message) to alert the moderators and administrators of VMB and we will look into it as soon as possible. Users who persist with defamatory or abusive postings will lose their privilege to participate on VMB.
Trip Reports:VMB understands that writing a trip report can be time consuming. We suggest that you compose your report offline and then cut and paste your entire trip report to VMB. Please contact a moderator or administrator if you need help with this.
A link to a post on another message board or blog is not considered a trip report. Trip Reports at a minimum must contain a detailed summary of your trip with a link to the full report and/or pictures. Please see the Trip Report Rules & Guidelines sticky in the Trip Reports section for more information.
Board Business:All violations and policy issues will be dealt with off the public board in private messages or emails. Questions, comments or ideas about how VMB conducts business are not to be discussed on the open board. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email using the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page or contact Sonya by private message.
Content posted on VMB becomes part of VegasMessageBoard.com as a whole and in context. You are granting VMB and its proprietors a world-wide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty free, non-exclusive license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly display, and to incorporate such content into other works in any format or medium. Requests for content to be removed will be undertaken only at our discretion. Topics cannot be copied from VMB to any other website in their entirety without the prior written permission of VegasMessageBoard.com.
VMB does not delete by request accounts, content and/or posts of registered Members' whose post count is 1 or greater. Selectively deleting posts will generally disrupt the continuity and flow of community conversations, which we try to avoid at all times. Exception to this policy may be allowed at the sole discretion of VegasMessageBoard.
The owners of VMB reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread or message for any reason. VMB reserves, at our discretion, the right to revoke the membership of any member, email service or IP address at any time with or without prior notice at any time, for any reason.
By agreeing to these rules, you affirm you are solely responsible for the content of your message and you warrant that you will not post any material, or links to any material, which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, profane, overtly sexually-explicit, threatening, invasive of a persons privacy, or otherwise abusive of any law.
Any problems or questions you might have should be addressed using the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.
VMB reserves the right to update or modify these rules at any time. Members are advised to review this Registration Agreement occasionally and note any changes.
