Dinner at 8 East. (Quelle surprise!). Sapporo Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. Green Beans Sadly both dishes were kind of meh tonight. Hopefully just an off night - because this has become my go to place downtown.
Post-dinner I lost $50 slotting at Four Queens. And lost $300 chasing the $.50 deuces progressive at Chicago Brewing. Easy come, easy go. Earned the 500 points for the January promo for $30 FP and $30 comp. And had a vanilla vodka and root beer and a pink drink. So at least there’s that. A quick stop at ABC for some beverages and I’m in the room early. Hoping for a good night’s sleep. I’ve been fighting off some terrible virus for several weeks. At this point I’m down to a persistent cough and what’s almost certainly a mild sinus infection. Two weeks ago I thought I might have pneumonia - this is nothing. But am trying to make sure I get plenty of rest and don’t go too hard this trip. I don’t want to end up with shingles. Again. That was the worst. Tomorrow’s plans: VP, slotting, VGK game!
I also had the opportunity to do a “touch and go” a few years ago in LAS. Pilot says “we hope you enjoyed your stay!” Did the loop and landed safely!
Yum to the Vanilla vodka and root beer float. That is a nice comp drink! And of course the pink drink (another thing to aspire having; after the pizza bed But sorry to hear about the lingering symptoms. That is no fun :-( Shingles can be really awful….so understand why you want to avoid ever having again.
Oh yeah, pizza bed is a thing (TM @maxev) and a true VMB aspiration. @eliza I believe today is the day for gaming dominance. Now make it happen my friend!
If you stay at the Hyatt Regency, their suites are nice and if you happen to be one, the Globalist benefits are great, esp for breakfast. Great morning views of skyline as well. FYI: The Cornish Pasty, Pizzeria Bianco, and The Wild Thaiger is worth a visit. Have a great time in Phoenix!
Yay living vicariously through another Eliza trip report. Vegas, Reno and not one but two hockey games. Have fun and win a lil money. Maybe treat yourself to at least one nice meal. I suggest another tasting menu at Wolf and Sparrow or Partage.
I'm leaving Vegas shortly. You are in charge of finding all the pennies on heads and putting them in your bra.
Ok. Apologies for dropping the ball on live posting of today. Had a pretty boring morning. Grabbed a breakfast sandwich and cafe au lait from coffee stand at the D. And actually remembered to get my boarding pass match play chips. Then up to the room to do a bit of work on my side hustle and relax. Need to do a few hours of work for the day job as well - but that’s going to be tomorrow. Eventually made my way over to Circa and was surprised at how busy it was. I got one of the only available VP machines at sportsbook. Then realized there are NFL playoff games today - was surprised at how early folks had snagged those seats though. Bought in with $400 FP and $100 cash. Played for an hour and a half or so and cashed out $925.
It’s great. One of my favorite places to play now because you have a great view of the sportsbook. And there was even great drink service today, although that can be a bit hit or miss there.
Met up with @maxev for lunch at 8 East. Because it has been over 12 hours since I’d been there - they were probably missing me. He brought me comped chocolates from Wynn because he is the best. We ordered a bunch of things to share. And I’m happy to report that everything was excellent today - the green beans were so much better than the ones last night. Rosemary Smash Cucumber Salad Chicken Wings Mushrooms Duck Fried Rice Shrimp Green Beans It was great catching up with MaxEV. Congrats on the new job! And we tried to work out how long we thought we could string together comps in Vegas. I think I could make it 3 months or so before either the comps gave out or I got tired of the grind and moved on to something new.
