So I can cancel my flight home on Monday at no penalty, for a full refund in a future travel credit.

So. Freaking. Tempting. I can get at least two nights for free at the Wynn, and as long as I can get two or so nights before that at a hotel where I can do laundry... I’m all set.

Edit: Actually, I can do laundry at Eastside Cannery, come to think of it. Hmmmmm....

Let the chatter about “We all knew this would happen!” begin :)

I know this guy better than he knows himself, I think. He was gonna go to Vegas in January until I tagged him in a post about the rodeo...

NFC, if you extend your trip, you should consider a quick trip to the renovated Strat. They even encourage selfies at the tables. Knowing you, we will get good pictures out of this!

    Loving the report so far.

Of course, I have questions and comments....

    1) What is your "Henderson hotel" for the next day?

    2) Sure... extend your trip! But how will you get home?
2a) Will you play Megabucks for a few spins and hit the mega jackpot for a minimum of $10 mil U.S.? Then you won't have to leave Vegas for your entire life, if you don't want to. :)
2b) Even if you don't, I still think you should make it to the Double Down Saloon. I want to see your review. Oh, and try their "Ass Juice" shot for sure.

    3) I live about 2 hours away from Seneca Niagara casino, so I enjoyed your antics there and in Buffalo/Niagara Falls in general. However, I've never paid for a drink there, and I've been maybe a half dozen times. Maybe it was because I was either out on the floor at a slot or BJ table, or in their poker room. Maybe at the bar, there are no comped drinks and that was what you experienced (?).

    Good luck to you!

Oh, one more thing... in regards to Henderson, I am very curious if you are staying or if you can get to the Sunset Station and/or the Joker's Wild. Both are accessible easily by the BHX bus.

I've never been to either, but it's on my list of things to do for a future Vegas trip.

Well, that was a big ole’ fuckin’ waste of time. It worked out as best as it could though.

So, predictably, I decided to try and extend my trip. Booked an extra night at Eastside Cannery, and had all of my computer windows lined up to book my replacement flight and cancel my Monday flight. All my ducks were in a row until United’s website started giving me trouble. So I called them up… ended up on hold for a solid 30 minutes.

They confirmed that I can still cancel my reservation for a travel credit. However, I would have to pay a “change fee” when using the travel credit (since it is technically a flight change), which would basically wipe out the entire value of the credit.

So it seems I misunderstood what that option was… and I’m GLAD it worked out this way, because I was fully prepared to cancel online under the assumption that I wouldn’t have had to pay that change fee, basically losing the whole value of my ticket.

So I left my reservation unchanged, and cancelled Eastside Cannery’s extra night… resigning myself to the original plan of leaving on Monday.

The bad, is that I basically lost most of this afternoon as I got caught up in trying to make this happen.

The good, is that it was extra time to physically relax and recover from this morning’s hangover. Plus, while I was bored on hold I had the time to steam my blazer, pocket square, scarf, and one of my shirts… so I can be a bit more dressed up tonight :)

@breanna61, does this relieve me of my earlier fashion police citation?

All showered and dressed, ready to go. Just going to do my freeplay redemptions, then downtown, dinner, and then back to the strip to meet Astribling et al at the Linq.

Freeplay/matchplay inventory that I’ll be seeking to use up tonight includes...

    - 3x $25 Konami MyVEGAS free slot play
    - $25 match play and $25 slot play at The D
    - $10 free slot play at Four Queens

    Let’s go!

It’s just not my kind of bar at all with the games. Your local friend calling it ‘ chuck-e-cheese for adults’ hit it on the head looking at the pictures of the place and doing a quick look at reviews imho. Sapphires or Chicas Bonita’s, now we’re talking, or Double Down Saloon also which I think you said your going to hit up.

Alright! My luck has turned. Got my $75 freeplay no problem to use on any machine. All three of the booth attendants said the same thing, that it has to be used on Konami machines at the assigned casino. I took the advice to just try anyway, and it worked right out!

Went to the Excal’s high limit room to play nine-credit $0.25 Cleo. Cleaned right up on that with a good run on free games, and a 110 credit hit on my last freeplay spin. Sorry for the sideways photos, just tryna write this up as fast as I can and need to get moving to head downtown.

Cashed out with this. $20 of it is my own money, as you need to put your own money in the machine to use the freeplay. The rest is all profit.

Ice cold Corona came just in time too.

Then put $100 into $5 Double Top Dollar to swing for the fences. Second spin in...

    Third offer...

Took that money and RAN. This helps to recover some of my losses from before. I’ve got $500 in my pocket and $340 in my safe, having come down to Vegas with $1,000. So between gaming, strip clubs, and trivial cash expenses... I’m down just $160 for the trip on my sixth day. I’ll take it!

Now ordering a Trip to Strip ride downtown. Details to follow.

So Trip to Strip was a bust. I choose literally the worst possible time to try it, to be fair... the traffic is insane right now for the rodeo. Even Uber and Lyft rides were close to a ten minute wait (TTS quoted me 13 minutes). It eventually ran way late, and alerted me saying the driver is delayed and I have an option to cancel. Whatever. I’ll try it again tomorrow probably.

Called an Uber, and while waiting put $20 into this machine and hit this...

Just in time, my Uber was two minutes away. Cashed it out, and met him outside. Had to hold the cash in my hand, because my money clip is literally too full right now to hold any more money. Best problem to have, lol.

Dinner and downtown gaming footage to follow.

The luck at The D wasn’t as good. $25 matchplay on the pass line at craps sevened out on the first roll after a point of nine. Ah well.

Then blew my $25 slot play and about $40 of my own money playing $3 pinball in the high limit. A few any-bar hits for ten credits. Also had the first two reels stop on the double diamond symbol which was a good thrill for a second or two.

Ah well. This is exactly why casinos offer free/match play to get you in the door, right? :)
