See ya, City of Angels - I'm off to Sin City (a SoCal to Vegas Relocation Report)

With IT, you certainly have your pick of destinations. Move to Tuscany (Italy, not the Vegas casino..) for a year, or coastal Oregon, or anywhere in between. Jealous you get to experience the Vegas food and fun at all times now.

I've lived in SD for the past 13 years, it's certainly "LA light". I loved LA, but moving there with friends at 23 explains that love. Now approaching 50 with teenagers, LA would not be my first choice.

 

Said goodbye to my best friend over lunch.

Did a walkthrough of my apartment, returned my Spectrum router....returned my keys.

Why I'm moving:


To my cats!

If you look closely on the right, you can see a cat named Chloe enjoying the window view. She loves it here.


Andddd Jackson just tried to jump out all doped up on Gabapentin, oh god haha.

 

Anddd they had to give Jax his medication because he wouldn't eat it, poor stressed little boy.

Safe trip back here! Hope the kitties are okay.

 

Poor kitty. I have one who would be quite stressed out too as he's kinda the high anxiety type. Hopefully Jax does well with his move.

 

An hour and 11mins left, Jesus Christ let's fucking be here alreadyyyy. Chlo has been quiet and Jax settled down eventually.

We fuckin made itttttt. Holy shit that fucking drive was like San Diego status.

Got the kitties situated in my room, Jax is exploring and Chlo is happy.







Put the new filter on Swimmy's tank, everyone is good.

But damn.

(That time does not include the 55mins it took me to get to mother fucking Petsmart!)

"Just some drinks and food" I said, "maybe a couple noms". After getting everyone situated at home (!!!!), I was head to the Strip to hang with M. You peeps may know him as @MCann

As soon as I turned on to LV Blvd, a fountain show had started, and I knew I was home.

It just felt right. I'm in a good place, and it's all up from here!

 

Oh yeah, so then I proceeded to stay out for like, geez, 4hrs?

M and I had drinks at PHo (the fiasco with the bars and their "limited ingredients"....we just wanna redeem some goddamn drink tickets dude! Ffff)


AND! We got chips. Yum dude.


I then proceeded to be tipsy on an empty stomach, order $100+ in band merch from my favorite band (because they're the best, duh)..... then got sidetracked "oh hey, I like Goldfish!"





And I lost $40. Thanks. Thanks fish, geez. I don't drive 5hrs to see you anyway geez.

Then we went to Cos for snacks!

 

We swung by the Henry, where I had an amazing drink and we had snacks.







I drove home, less than 20mins to my new place! At 3 freakin AM. Sheesh.

My first morning in our new Las Vegas place! Good morning!


Jax and Chlo are exploring the master bedroom until I clean up the living room a bit. It was so nice to wake up in my own bed, with kitties, in this perfect weather!

Jax loves the windows with a view!



Now off to the Strip to nab this dude I know, and hopefully some foooood.
