I gave them a hard time over the vp changes on facebook. Basically the point of without the vp i might come and eat but wouldnt go out of my way any longer. Their response was they are working on something for top fans like myself. Ya im sure a facebook top fan badge is really going to open doors lol

I used to love Ellis Island, but for some reason after they updated their casino a few years ago, I dont like the vibe as much. I enjoyed the table games before the spruce up more.

Ellis Island? Sign me up. Really like it and the BBQ ribs are good. Yep, they cleaned it up (updated) but not as "clean" as Harrah's takeover of the great Imperial Palace.

Yes, it the old IP. I miss the change ladies with their Hawaiian shirts pushing the change carts. Hit my first royal at the IP. Also, miss the character driven atmosphere. It was like downtown but on the Strip. Compared to the IP, the Linq is a bit sterile.

Pfft. Working in what .... A way to auto adjust the paytables once you pop in your card? This is so disappointing. I don't understand why casinos can't offer full pay VP. They still make tons of money on those machines.

Yeah I do like the Linq. But agree how IP had a certain feel to it. I was lucky enough to stay there as well as the Riviera before they both became no more...

Still love going to Ellis Island at least once a trip, and in December I wouldn't miss it for anything!

I'm interested in the answer to this as well. Was planning to play there for the first time on my upcoming trip but will have to back off if all they have is a tub.

No tub. Full-size table opens at 6.

I asked my husband if we had ever been to Ellis Island in all our trips to Vegas and he informed me that we had. Many, many years ago when we stayed at Key Largo. He said that we walked there but it was Karaoke night and was so crowded we could barely get in the place so we left after a half an hour.
I have zero memory of this...I may have been drunk.
It's for sure on our list in November as we are staying at Bally's for the first time and it will be within walking distance. He loves BBQ so he isn't about to argue. I can't wait!

Food is usually good at EI, especially given you're not paying Ramsay prices for it.

I've eaten at the Binion's BBQ twice. Once it was outstanding. Once it was decent. Not sure why it was only decent in the summer of 2018. Got the bad chef that day?

    I'll be back next month.

FYI and planning— unless the BBQ cafe has changed, it doesn’t open until 4pm.

cvkelz if you are football fans checkout Monday Night Football at EI. They have great giveaways, beer and food deals during the game. I am heading to Vegas in a couple of weeks and plan on going to EI for the Monday Night game.

I was at EI today and the VP was a big disappointment. I had no idea and sat down to play at the same bank of 5 cent VP machines and was shocked to see 7/5 JOB. And not even the 5 dollar denom had full pay. I checked about ten different machines and could not see any full pay JOB. I would just stick to Cromwell’s quarter full pay VP and not even venture to this place anymore.

I played some blackjack, which was the same $5 min 3/2 game. Besides the food and blackjack, there is no reason to visit EI anymore.

So, true, but I am more on the "not a fan" side. (Hate is too harsh of a word for this.)
Too much action on the strip to go there again.
No need to gamble there as I won't ever stay and we ate there once and one of worst tasting meals.

Yeah unfortunately they murdered all the good video poker machines under $2 denom except for one or two Double Double Bonus machines with 25 and 50 cent with 98.98% according to VPfree2.

7/5 JoB? Really? That's awful! You can find much better elsewhere. That's a huge downgrade from last year when I was there. Super disappointing. I even cringe playing 8/5 JoB at my local, which is the best they can legally offer.

Does Ellis Island think it is on center strip all of a sudden?
