I think that they raised their drink prices also. I was there yesterday and ordered 2 bloody Mary's at the bar. $8 each, for a small glass. They were not good either. Went back to Tuscany and had their $4.50 ones, which are excellent.

I used to enjoy Ellis but cut it out of the rotation when they gutted their vp schedules. Liked their food offerings but not enough to make a trip over there just to eat.

Exactly! You can get all the 7/5 JOB you want at Bellagio, Aria and the likes. Why inhale all the smoke for that at EI :)

We visited last week, very disappointed at selection of machines and VP pay, used to love to play there for a bit but won't venture over again. Steak special was a bit better this time though...…..as my husband said......…"they think they are cool now"...…………...lol

$8.00 is kinda pricey for a dump like EI.

Have never been. I have always wanted to go, but we are usually too hammered to make it. This trip since we are staying at Bally's there isn't much excuse not to go.

I walked to EI from Bally’s, wanted to try the ribs. After dinner I tried a couple times to get a seat at the bar and play some VP, but it was a Thursday night, the football game was on and the bar was packed. I played a little VP, then saw this bank of Dragon Link machines just outside of the barbecue restaurant. I usually play in Atlantic City and these machines are almost always occupied. I ended up getting several bonuses, so I took the money and ran.

In the past i always heard good things about Ellis island...but only a few years ago i went there (i thought it was way off strip but actually it is not that bad less than 10 min walk from bally's sportbook...and last 5 years i stayed at bally's) anyway back to Ellis island. First time i was there i had superb and cheap breakfast...i just loved the californian (less than 8 bucks) I think their steak special is according to me the best deal in vegas..if you play some VP you can print a voucher for 7,99(normally its 9,99) They have their own brewery and their beers from draft 2,50 (their october beer is great)....also got me some t shirts at the playersclub(also very friendly lady and helpfull) tuesday tacos(2 street tacos and shot tequilla for 5 bucks) yes its a very small casino and breaths local casino so i mainly come for the cheap and good food (and yeah everybody taste differs ofcourse..some people like their steak with fat and muscles in it..i totally dont it grosses me out but their breakfast steak special or sir loin steak has those...ewwww(never ordered it) ) gamblingwise i wouldnt gamble here for a long time (like bally's/flamingo/caesars better for that) will just show you my favorite(cheap) dishes from Ellis island now (californian, tacos and steak special)

Is the last pic the size of the steak from the $7.99 deal?

I love Ellis Island. An easy walk from Tuscany Suites where I usually stay. Very reasonable prices on food. Relatively loose slots (from my experience). Great beer. Attentive Cocktail Wait staff. And the food is not only cheap, but delicious. The only thing I would like to see is the Casino get a bit bigger. otherwise I love it. The Beer Garden out front will not be a big deal to me, but if that helps attract more customers and keep them going, then that's great too. Love the place! Long live these off-strip casinos.

Ive got about 5 free beers in past two years by asking different employees for that deal. But last time in August they entered my points card number against it. The group has since stopped mentioning this so it might not be available. You should ask anyways you could get lucky.

EI's video poker schedules conjure thoughts of Harrahs (soon to be Eldorado). The downgrades to lower-limit machines and EI's now-overt presence on Koval Rd. seem to suggest that the Ellis family may be planning to retire and make sale to one of the megaresorts soon. Their VP inventory very much seems to walk and talk like a Harrahs property.

Can someone tell me if they have brisket or pulled pork on the BBQ menu? I've been hunting for a menu for just the BBQ joint but everything takes me back to the cafe menu. I hate racks of ribs myself, but love brisket & pulled pork. Also, is the BBQ smoked?

From their website, no brisket or pulled pork

    ELLIS ISLAND BBQ
Family recipes and preparation set the standard for what BBQ should be. We cook our barbecue low and slow, producing the most succulent meat that falls off the bone. You won’t walk away feeling light in the wallet or still hungry with unheard of menu prices and the largest portions in Vegas.

Please note, our barbecue restaurant is 21+.

Thank you! I’ll stick to the chicken or head over to the restaurant and try the steak sometime.
