Table Games Blackjack Conditions

Last night at El Co - single deck pitch and double deck games were both $5 minimum. Weekend nights were $5 or $10 depending on the table. And on the busiest night this week (last VGK watch party downtown) every table was $10. So, I think it really just varies based on how busy of a night it is.

Just thought I would add a quick notice of soething I saw earlier today.

The Wynn high limit has added a double deck table. I asked the supervisor when they put it in. He said about six weeks ago. He and I also then discussed how it actually no bettter than the floor game (H17), just a higher minimum (which was $100 around noon today). Stilll, if you want to play at a higher minimum in the comfort of the HL room, there ya go

 

BJ update Aria to MGM. Just back from a solo gambling run. Stayed at Aria, minimum BJ $15 (6:5), lost at two tries $100 and $95 so fast that the drink did not arrive. At $15 your money is gone 50% faster if you lose all your hands
MGM Park few $10 (6:5) but busy and overall did not like the setup.
NYNY Won $100 on a 2 hour run at $10 (6:5) with lots of cocktails and fun DJed music.
MGM Grand found a single deck $25 (3:2) and had the most fun. Had not played single deck as it is usually >$50 and the slowness (dealer manually shuffles a lot) were great.

Are you sure it wasn't a double-deck pitch game?
As far as I know, there is no 3:2 single-deck anywhere on the strip, at any minimum... and the El-Co is the only property downtown with a 3:2 single-deck game.

 

I was shocked, too. There were 2 tables with single deck 3:2 at $25. I don’t know if it was a special promotion. I am usually a $10 player, this was the first time that I went up to $25 a hand given the opportunity. It was Thursday night at MGM around 11pm.

 

Anyone know if Cromwell still has $10 3/2 BJ?

 

When I was ther in the middle of May they had it at least during the day time hours.

 

Did you see any MGM properties that DON'T use auto sufflers at $15? It already stinks that they pay 6:5, but I play only a few hundred just for the table interaction on solo trips. I just hate those continuous shufflers. I feel you don't have any real chance, not that I'm counting cards but still you get a feel for small and face cards even in a six deck shoe. It's like rubbing salt into the wound.

 

Recent thread ("Blackjack Tables") reminded me to bump this.
Probably the most notable change downtown has been with 4-Queens, offering "3:2 blackjack" now, but not really, as there is a required sucker bet that you must play.

El-Co remains the best, low-minimum ($5 & $10) 1 & 2 deck blackjack available just about anywhere.

 

Well, 4Q used to have that one 2-deck table (no DAS) that was 3:2... I guess that’s got the mandatory carny bet too? Not like I was playing there anyway.

These are of limited use (for example, no mention of the forced carny bets at 4Q) but I like to see what stands out as different.

Looks like DTG is offering some decent games. Two years in a row I vowed to go and check it out and I haven’t done it.

 

Actually, as far as I know, that 3:2 double-deck (no DAS) table is still "pure"... but it is (was?) a $15 minimum....whn the Fremont (right across the street) offers the exact same game at $5.

 

They removed all of the 6/5 Blackjack tables in Springfield MGM
From 6am until noon, they have $5 3/2 dealt from a CSM. At noon they went up to $15 because it was mobbed there,but during the week it is usually $10 after 12..

The $25 tables are still the same 3/2 6 deck shoe, dealer stands on all 17's,
DAS, split up to 4 times including Aces, surrender.

I might have messed up , but this was MGM Springfield this afternoon.

 

Wasn’t this change (getting rid of 6:5 tables) the result of litigation from a player because state gaming mandates a 3:2 payout for blackjack?

 

If that’s the case, that would be fantastic.

 

Back in the final days of the original Sahara they used to advertise $1 Blackjack 24/7 and they did have it at 3:2. But later, during the daytime it was only at one table; and I believe that the fine print was that if you played $5 a hand Blackjack paid 3:2; but if you were only playing the $1 minimum, Blackjack paid even money...

 

Hooters had those same rules on one table a couple of years ago, with a giant sign outside advertising $1 blackjack.

 

Yup, Hooters, now OYO has $1 BJ that pays even money on bets $1-$4 and then 6:5 on $5+ bets.

If you're betting $1 at a full table and getting good drink service it's not that bad of a deal even with paying even money, ~$1.20 an hour expected loss
