March Madness LIVE from the Cosmo

I've been waiting a couple weeks for you to send me that, lol

 

I recall meeting at Cosmo years ago, but I don't think it was during MM. I didn't know you were a SH fan! Anywho, I can't bad mouth your team since they beat my cats back in December (thanks to a ridiculous shot!). I usually skip the MM parties. To me, they are only worth it if you either drink a ton or want to watch every second of the games. I like to be able to take breaks, go gamble, and mix in other stuff. I expect we will spend most of our time at Cosmo, but probably some Aria and Bellagio as well

 

Ugh, today is going to feel long. I have a meeting this afternoon that will chew up some time, but the flight tomorrow morning cannot get here soon enough! Got my A20 boarding pass on what will undoubtedly be a full Southwest flight. I also talked to my host last night and arranged a good spot to watch the Cats play tomorrow. I expect an easy double digit win, so tomorrow should be fun. Saturday, I expect a closer game that will make me nervous. Will start packing after my meeting ....

You are correct not during MM years ago. Will be my 18th straight year for opening weekend for MM. Good luck on your picks and I hope your Cats get a rematch against my Pirates. Would mean my Pirates pulled off a first round upset!!

 

Well, my afternoon meeting got postponed. So time to start packing and finding something to download and watch on the plane

 

Sounds like something I would do if I really did not want to have a meeting before I take off. Too much on my mind.

As readers know from my other trip reports, I don't mind a little off topic sports talk

 

Well, with no meeting, I spent most of the afternoon watching sports talk and screwing around with these two:

I did finally get around to packing

And I retrieved a chunk of my bankroll!

So now the trip is starting to feel real.

I texted the friend who joining me and we made a plan to meet up at the airport. Getting in a vegas state of mind ....

 

They are cuties! Looking good!

 

Is Catch on the dinner agenda? If not, it should be.

 

We don't really have a meal agenda. I tried to persuade my buddy to tell me in advance what he wanted so I could make some reservations. But he never did. So this week will feature a mealtime pitched battle between march madness crowds (aka, the largest four day vegas crowd of the year) and my fancy tier status cards conning the restaurants into thinking I am a High Roller! Actually, if we stay around Cosmo, I suspect my host can get us a table at most places with a few hours notice. She has always been able to in the past.

As for Catch, I have mixed feelings. I went there in January. I had a reservation but my companion ended up not being able to join me, so they moved me to the bar. I recall the food being good (but obviously not that special, as I cannot remember what I had). But I was not a fan of the environment. It reminded me of STK (the place can't decide if it wants to be a restaurant or a nightclub so it gets stuck somewhere in between the two). I'm sure I will try it again someday. But if I am at Aria for dinner, I am always going to gravitate toward Julian Serrano and Carbone.

But now you have me thinking about some dinners in Vegas. If we hang around Cosmo, I am probably going to want Zuma or Beauty & Essex

 

This has all the ingredients to turn out to be something pretty epic. Can’t wait to hear all about it! Guess I should fill out my brackets so I can get in on the off topic sports talk!
