    I have three majors.

    A) La Cosa Nostra no longer runs Vegas. It was 100000000000000x better back then (for smartone:wink2:)

    B) The time vortex that turns 24 hour days into 7-10 hour ones every time I'm there. Amazing how short the days become, and how fast time flies while I'm on vacation.

    C) The money disappearing vortex (a phenomena also only occurring while on vacation in Las Vegas.) Competely baffling how I can make 10-20k disappear in a period of 3 or 4 seven hour days...Still haven't figured that one out yet..

All kidding aside, I'm reading all these posts and laughing and "mmm hmmming" and "absolutelying" and "I hate that shit(ing?)" but then I realize how little it bothers me when I'm there. The elevators hogs, the inconsiderate walkers, the tobacco ****s, the anklebiters and their lousy parents, people playing who don't know gambling strategies for table games AND the players that will call them out, etc...It's odd I seem to take a bfd attitude towards it when I'm there, and just try and enjoy every minute I get to be in LV...I'll save the bitching for a trip report afterwards..

"People who use accessible stalls in the rest rooms -especially when all the other stalls are empty."

Interesting, I was just having a conversation regarding this very thing. I dont mean to be snarky, but Handicap stalls are "accessible" not "inclusive". Anyone can use them, but for the most part people are considerate. But I do know, for example, in Ballys, the bathroom by the deli has the accessible stall as the first stall and when I am winning at a machine and have to make a bee line for the restroom, that is the stall I go into. In and out in a matter of seconds.

Also, "detesting" people for stepping in your way, is a bit harsh. Again, people are mostly considerate, but ESPECIALLY after a couple of cocktails, consideration goes right out the window and its not just for people in scooters, wheelchairs, etc. They may see you but don't really SEE you, if you know what I mean. I can guarantee you also, that they are not aware of any ramps you may be interested in using.

Maybe it's just me, but when I am in Sin City, there is very little that will get to me and possibly ruin my trip. There are people from all over the world, many of which have a different sense of "personal space". If someone is playing, what I consider wrong, on a table, I leave. If I am in a pool, sitting on a step, reading a book and get splashed, I laugh. And the list goes on and on. So while many of us have our personal pet peeves I hope that none of them will deter you from having a great trip.

And another thing----when a scooter (supposedly for the handicapped/ disabled) comes at you at about 20 MPH and the driver is looking the other way as if no one else is around ! Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I prefer the word detest over hate. Also I'm not talking about people who walk in front of me, I'm talking about when I'm at the ramp to cross a street and people cut in front of me and just stand there and act like I should be the one to move. I can't roll over the curb. Or they block the path and expect me to go around them, the trash can, the light post on the 16" of walkway left before the curb and my scooter is 21" wide.

I am very aware of people when I am on my scooter, I watch for those who don't pay attention, for kids running out in front of me, for those who are weaving in and out of foot traffic and those who stop for a photo. I don't want anyone to fall on me and I'm always polite and say excuse me when I need to get around someone.

my main pet peeve is that everyone who works in las vegas has there hand out for a tip. just like beggers. if you want a tip you should try to earn it and work in a job where its normal to give you one. be happy with what you get or go get a real job.

Worse than people blocking the sidewalks or walkways is people who don't move out of the way when they get off an escalator. They just stand there oblivious to the fact that people will be ramming right into them.

Further to the accessible stall. Sometimes it is the only stall available and when you use it the others finish and leave so there you are looking like an a hole for using the one stall for accessibility.:confused2:

This is a pet peeve of mine anywhere! When I was 3 the sash on my dress got caught in an escalator and I have a bit of a phobia on them that really kicks in as I exit an escalator or moving walkway. If you stop dead in front of me, you could end up on your ass:grrr::wink2:

I have heard this before and I call "hogwash" on this one. As was posted before Handicapped stalls are Handicap accessible not set aside only for handicap like parking spaces. We all have to wait sometimes for a stall to open up and you aren't any exception. Now if there was a "only people who have bladder control problems and will pee their pants if they don't get a stall right away" then I could see us able-bladered people leaving it for the less fortunate. Also if I'm ever using a handicap stall then there is a reason and its not "just because". You can't just assume the bathroom wasn't full when I went in.

i use accessible stalls often for 2 reasons...One i have interstitial cystitis which means I will use an available stall as opposed to living with the pain it causes me not to be able to empty my bladder ASAP. Second I have fibro, back issues and on bad days I need the higher toilet and grab bars. I may look "normal" but i have legit issues for which i use handicapped stalls. I also use auto door openers because it huts my back and shoulder to push/pull doors open.

People who stand behind me while I play slots...omg so annoying. People who have their kids on the strip after 9 o clock.

I don't mind kids being in vegas at all. The m&m store, circus circus, coke store , going out to eat, and new york new york coaster/arcade are all things kids can do during the daytime. So I understand bringing your kids to vegas to a certain extent.

There is absolutely nothing available for kids after 9/10 o clock though. Why would you have your kids out that late on the strip. That's when all of the party goers are out. People drinking and having a good time. Nothing a kid could enjoy.

Often the accessible one is the only one empty! Also (and lot of guys don't realize this) lines are common in the ladies room, and when you are at the head of the line you just grab the first one that opens up. Sometimes when it's busy there will be an attendant "directing traffic" and if an accessible stall opens up, she will motion you into it.

I've never heard any rule, written or unwritten, that the accessible stall is "reserved" for those who need them. It's not like a parking lot!

    ROFL! :)

While I'd never park in a Handicap Parking space I will use a Handicap stall. They are roomy and have a sink, mirror, soap and paper towels and I'm in and out in a flash.
Oh and never in all my years of using ADA Compliant bathrooms have I ever ran into a situation where someone was denied access to a stall due to my insensitive behavior!

Incredible that some people get upset about which stall other people choose to take a crap.

I dont really have any strong pet peeves, maybe when the server disappears when you want the check.

I guess mine is when I finally get to sit down at a game I love and can't seem to win a thing. The only thing that can make this worse is if I decide to sit there through the blood bath and can't manage to catch the CW while I'm there. Other than that, I'm on vacation and in Vegas; it doesn't get much better.
