What i claim, gang speak. A wrong answer will usually result in a fight. Theres a lot of "crip" affiliated people on the strip hence the red hat and chuck taylors makes them think I am their rival.

I usually just laugh and point at my gf since Im not gang affiliated.

As a strip walker......I absolutely hate broken escalators!! -____-
It is always the escalator going up 2!
This becomes a major pain when you are drunk in vegas during june/july/august.
They have to be doing it on purpose because the escalators work fine during the day but somehow all break down at night,

    It's a sick joke I tell ya!!

I don't understand the complaints over people's food choices (chain vs high end dining). I'm a fantastic cook at home, have baked my family's bread for the past 18 months without buying a single loaf, watch the food network daily and research recipes like crazy. But in Vegas, eating is something I want to do quick, easy and on the cheap to save my measly budget for the entertainment I came to Vegas for. So, yes, I'll eat at McD's for breakfast every day and have one meal later on between lunch and dinner that will more than fill the hunger gap. It's MY vacation and I think it's just fine the way it is. :) I don't feel deprived, and hey....I'm not taking up a reservation for those who want that high end dining.

My biggest pet peeve is friends that can't handle losses emotionally and still gamble. Like we'll have a plan to go out for dinner and then go out drinking, but we stop and play blackjack for 20 minutes and they get creamed. Next thing you know they don't feel like going to dinner and are going to spend the entire evening grumpy.

If gambling affects you emotionally so much you probably should stop.

I can pretty much overlook most things and just say "to each their own".

The one thing that really bugs me about the place I love to vaction is people that can't handle their liquor and then become rude, destructful, loud and obnoxious....because "it's Vegas!!" Really??:rolleyes2:

I know it's Vegas but I don't care where you are...you can party, get lit and still have a blast w/o being disrespectful to other people and other peoples property.

Very True... a lot of this exists at the Hard Rock. Obviously, there a large (no it's not all...plenty of regular folks there too) segment of younger visitors and it generally shows up after they've been out at the pool the whole day.

I agree with many others about kids, especially young ones out after 2AM.

I also cannot stand the aggressive Timeshare people that continually hound me. I don't normally even acknowledge them, but some are persistent.

Just about everything else is good about Vegas. Looking forward to the 100+ degree weather next week.....

There's this small strip of walkway in Sydney, Australia near a major mall (it's on Pitt street for any Aussie's reading) that I call "The Gauntlet" because you have to navigate maybe 5-10 different solicitors asking you to sign their petition, donate money or join their gym. It literally takes an expert to get through it all without getting stopped.

I can't stand the broken escalators.

Here's my question: Who is responsible (paying for) the operation of them?

While the construction of them comes from a fund paid for by the casinos, I'm pretty sure they're then maintained by the Nevada Dept. of Transportation (NDOT) but contracted out.. I believe that's the case, because last year there was a bit of controversy in the bidding/awarding of the maintenance contract and it was all handled by NDOT.

People that brag about all the comps they receive. Of course they fail to mention the $4,430 they lose every trip.

Hell, they'll probably tell you "Overall, I'm about break-even."

Lots are complaining about the broken escalators. Be careful here.

In the near future we may see the dreaded "$3 escalator repair fee" added to the hotel bill.

Most of mine have been mentioned here already, but here is one more.

People who sit at VP bars and dont play, I,m not talking about the odd 1 or 2 people, or people who have played and busted, I,m talking about groups of 4-5 people together, get a table folks!

This of course does not apply at Wynncore where you cannot get a comped drink anyway!!!

Lol. I have been asked by family members why we go to Vegas so much, and that we must win a lot to not have to pay for rooms, meals, tickets etc. This always makes me laugh, but I always say no, we lose WAY more than we win.

I'm guessing the clueless elevator folk are those who don't live and/or work in big cities and don't use elevators in latrge buildings often. I certainly see plenty of people visiting Chicago who are dumbfounded by revolving doors.

I was waiting by the exit to the Luxor's parking garage one night, a bit annoyed that a friend was taking so long to get there. I saw one of the time share people leaving, and stopped here to ask if she was coming back next year. I know, that job must suck, but the timeshare people seem to be more annoying each trip.

The street characters, vendors, preachers, homeless, and others have pretty much made me eliminate walking too much of the strip any longer. I made the walk on the strip from Luxor to Bellagio last trip, and won't do that again. I"ll either hang out at my south strip favorites or cab it if I need to go further than NYNY.

    I feel educated now...

I wasn't aware of all the things I need to be irritated about. It's similar to how I didn't know I'd been "tunneled" until I read about it after it happened to me.

Actually, I do see a few things that I have felt a fleeting annoyance at during one trip or another. But as I read through this, I just find myself promising myself to really relax on this next trip and not let any truly little thing bug me. Especially as I'm sure I've been the offender on many of the items on the list.
