Does anyone really want to go to Vegas now?

Some little gambling parlor, retail store style casinos are apparently open in South Dakota right now. Don't expect Vegas style machines or high limits, but if you want to play, they are there. Doesn't look like masks are required.

I won't be going for quite some time until the pandemic is past us and restrictions are no longer in place. I've gone 3-4x a year the past few years, so I can wait. Faced with plexiglass, spaced machines, people wearing masks, I'd not be able to relax. And it's just window dressing really when you're talking about the number of touch surfaces, proximity of other people. No shared elevators? Even at 60% occupancy, you can't avoid a lot of people, it's Vegas. And I love the pool, but I won't go just to sit away from others in the shade and then order room service for two days.

Think I will be lucky IF I can go later this year.....:rolleyes2:
I've grown to appreciate masks in this current climate, and we are used to wearing them.
I would Not feel comfortable if we are wearing masks, to protect ourselves and others.
But other people are not. :(
IMO its disrespectful, and you don't know that you aren't asymptomatic.

I love Vegas, but I’ve resigned in my mind the earliest I will go is next summer since that’s when I believe things will most appear normal. If things loosen up greatly before then, I’ll consider it. Our state just launched sports betting, so I will make due with the online aspect of that until next summer.

All excellent points. I went last year right after the rodeo and even at 25% capacity, the tables and gaming areas were busy. 50% capacity with people wearing masks, gloves, etc...it wouldn’t be relaxing.

And it’d be weird AF to go to the pool and see people wearing masks bigger than their swimsuits. :haha:

I’m in pretty good shape and I struggle with an N95 mask after about an hour or so. I definitely feel lightheaded and find it hard to breathe.

The gaming commission apparently listed some requirements, to be submitted seven days prior to re-opening considerations, which also make it not sounds to much fun insofar as restrictions. I have an end of August trip (28-31) planned but after hearing from those VMBers who go in June/July, assuming things are open, I may push it back further if it sounds more like a chore than a trip to let loose.

I totally understand what they're trying to do, and it's definitely a rock/hard place sort of thing, but it doesn't make much sense to have similar restrictions on a 5 hour flight away than I have here at home lol.

I want to return and have a reservation for Caesars on 6/5. Not against masks.

I'm not going anywhere now. I certainly look forward to travel but we'll get by until we can go and enjoy all the many places where we vacation.

We're out for a while. While I understand the restrictions that will be in place, nothing about them says 'fun' to us. We'll wait until something closer to normal emerges.

Right now I am just sad. I will not go. I am very high risk. But I can not also live my life locked in a house. Just trying to figure it all out. But I will be first in line for a vaccine I do not care if it has not been tested for years. I need Vegas to be back close to how it was. I need to go to work yea I miss being in the office and I need dinner with my friends. Sorry for venting for a second.

It may come down to, yes, I want to go, but I'm no longer invited. Know what I mean?

I'm always amazed that Gold Coast gives me rooms, a little food and FP. I'm such a low roller. I'll sit there all day and play, but maybe only lose what some of you do in five minutes. It occurs to me that if there are limits to the rooms, people on the floor, etc., that my invitation to the party might not be coming anymore. For me, that's the end of Vegas. I go because I get a comped room, love buffets and even when I lose, it's not that bad because it didn't cost me a bundle to get there. Vegas may change in ways we haven't even thought about yet. I still got my locals.

I’ll wait till masks aren't required for flights and casinos. I have a hard time wearing the mask for 20 minutes in the grocery store. I’m not against the mask requirements, but I wouldn’t consider it a vacation. If work calls me back, and a mask is required I’ll suck it up, I as everyone else needs to make a living. As much as I’d like to support the economy, I’m waiting till masks are not required.
