This news saddens me greatly. Greg was one of those people who was not just an online screenname. He was so obviously a great person you couldn't help but love him. I remember Greg from Vegas message boards going back over 10 years. In that time, we've discussed everything possible about shows in Vegas (and even in the Bay Area).

We were supposed to meet up last spring, but my schedule changed and I wasn't able to. I would love nothing more than to go pick him up from the Rio and take him to dinner. We talked about meeting up so many times, but our schedules never worked out.

    Greg will be missed.

Although I never met Greg his posts were full of knowledge and he seemed like a very nice person. So sad to hear of his passing.

I am cracking open a Guinness right now to his memory.
    RIP Greg

I am deeply saddened by this news. GregRio was a great person to come to for info but more importantly he was by all accounts a great man and will be missed greatly.

Hopefully he is able to get his eternal rest now and have the best seat in the house for any show he wants to see

RIP GregRio. I gained so much information from his posts. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but always thought that I would in my Vegas travels.

All the best to his friends and family.

Lori, that poem would bring a tear to a glass eye. It's beautiful. You're beautiful for writing it and sharing it. Wonderful tribute.

Thank you, Lola. I considered Greg a friend, although I know he was closer to other people on the boards. I'm one of the rare ones who actually met him. My heart just opened up and I wrote. Sometimes it happens that way.

I am so shocked and saddened by this.

I loved reading his trip reports, posts and advice.

All Vegas boards will be missing our resident Show Guy.

I sent an e-mail of condolences to Greg's brother, Jeff...telling how much we all cared about him.

    Here is his reply:

    Del

Thank you for your kind thoughts. Greg passed in his home with family on 3/20/13 of stage 4 lung cancer. He went very quickly so he did not suffer. Hospice kept him comfortable with morphine during his final days. Per his request there will be no service. He lived for his work, LV trips and message board connections. Greg was a beloved brother and a great inspiration to us all. Yes he will be missed by many. Thanks again…

    Greg’s brother Jeff

If you read this board often, the people become so familiar it is almost as if we are all one big family! I have come to look forward to so many familiar people posting, it is hard to imagine not seeing their names any longer. Now, Gregrio is one of them! Reading on VMB has become a way to relax and relive Vegas thru others eyes. I will miss doing so thru Greg. Hugs go out to his family and our family here on VMB!!

I didn't know Greg, I don't think I even chatted with him in a "thread", however I used his information and always read his posts with interest, and enjoyed his knowledge, and his willingness to share it.

My condolences to his family and friends.

    RIP
