New Orleans BBQ Shrimp…one of our favorite and we had not made it in a while. Simple and tasty…

This is the recipe I use. The name is misleading…nothing BBQ about it. It is so good! Yes, butter is a big part of it.

Wanted pork ribs. Got summer ribs but forgot pigs have ribs in their shoulders too. You live you learn.
Baked potatoes not shown with mushrooms and butter and onions and cheese…..and corn on the cob to finish it off. CCB0E3F1-7655-48A6-A5E0-C1B149332FE5.jpeg F2F80D47-06FA-41C4-8106-99469E0544B1.jpeg 60069FD3-1F47-4A42-8BDC-73F0D1B555A4.jpeg ABFD59FC-CC9F-4368-9072-A77F934C585C.jpeg

    Snacks for watching NASCAR.

Smoked cream cheese, Cajun Krab dip, and local hot boiled peanuts.

Based on the last few posts I'm humbled. I had a couple of baking potatoes in the pantry so...
    Belgian fries with Mayo.

Sorry no pics. Tried a Turkish restaurant for the first time the other day. Slightly different twist onMediterraneans like Lebanese andGreek. Lentil soup was blended to a not quite smooth texture and tasted of veggies and lemon. Bronzini served whole with perfect troutlike texture and tasty crisp skin. Bed of salad greens under the fish. Turkish coffee, milder and smoother than Greek with a touch of sweetness and spice, but with the same inch of sludge at the bottom as Greek coffee. Altogether pleasing meal.

Haven’t had Turkish in awhile, if you return, check out the grilled Sardines, they are much bigger than the canned type and you will have to contend with some small bones, but they are really yummy.

Chicken fajitas last night. Soaked thighs all day in a puree of onions, Mex oregano, lime juice, S/P and olive oil, then poured in a bottle of Modelo. Rajas of three bells, poblano and onion. Guacamole. Crema and queso fresco. Used the last of the last batch of pinquitos for refrieds.

Hot damn, found some red chile sauce in the freezer. Red chile cheese enchiladas tonight. Street corn on the side.

I would return in a minute, except that this place was in Columbus, Ohio. My brother took us and grabbed the check. Café Istanbul, a local chain. Probably nothing like that here on the South Sound. Maybe in Seattle.

My brother's wife was taken slightly aback by the sight of a whole fish, lol.

Order the grilled octopus next time, the sight of the tentacles with the suckers can be a little off putting.

Bronzino is really just sea bass, the stuff we get is typically farm raised in Turkey. I picked up two fish shaped grilling frames at Ikea about 20 years ago and never used them, this may inspire me to pick some up at Costco and put 'em to use.

Unfortunately, octopus was not on the menu. Had it been, I would have ordered it. Bronzini was the only fish entree. While I have read about the handling of other farmed seafood, and have experienced the tragic results of sloppy salmon farming in Puget Sound, I am not informed about bronzini farming techniques.

served with mashed potatoes (thanks to my new potato ricer) and green beans

But what to do with all the leftovers? Cuban sandwiches: roast pork, cheddar(since the family doesn’t like Swiss), ham, pickles served up with some supermarket pasta salad (meh, should have made my own)

Maple-glazed Salmon over Spinach. The maple syrup was made by friends from Michigan. They also gave me maple flavored bourbon… FA6D76F7-D933-4DA2-A9B2-314FD3727B26.jpeg

Stuffed Anaheim starter at Full of Life Flatbread in Los Alamos. (Not shown are the totally devoured pizzas, pepperoni and poblano and Medjool date and bacon.)
