Does a host get “credit” for your play?

So I have a Host for the first time. He set up my suite and some free play. He is based at Flamingo.
    Two questions:
Does he get some kind of credit or whatever based on the amount that I play?
Assuming he does, is it only based on my Flamingo play or does it also include my play at other Caesar Rewards properties?

Yes and should be based on your play at any CET properties on any trip where the host makes the arrangements for you. CET does not care where you play in LV - they give you the same credit regardless of where you are staying or gambing.

I agree with @HuskerBB 's answer. To emphasis the point, my hosts are disappointed when I make my own reservations as they don't get credit for my trip (or very little credit if they are hosts at my CET "dominant property.") Hosts get paid or promoted due to their book of business and you are part of that book.

One time my CET host declined to do a full discretionary comp on my expenses even though I put in some decent gambling action. It wound up he was only looking at the action in the hotel I was staying not the other two Las Vegas CET's casinos I played at. When I brought it to his attention, the expenses were written off. So I would consider alerting your host that you also played at specific CET casinos to make sure you get full credit.

Edited: Changed "reclined" to "declined" as suggested by @billcasa. That said, some of my hosts work more diligently than others so maybe "reclined" is appropriate!

My host(ess) is not CET. But she lives fairly comfortably as a result of being my host(ess)

Yes. They have numbers/goals to make/achieve and your play -- at Wynn it is heavily about theo unless the losses are significant -- is a big part of their numbers. I have joked with my host that for a couple of really bad (losing wise) trips I probably played an outsized role in him making his numbers.

I disagree with most of the answers here.
Your host does get credit for the theo you generate ... FOR THE CET PROPERTIES IN HIS OR HER MARKET. So, if your host is at Flamingo, then she will get the credit for Flamingo or Caesars or PH or Cromwell or whatever. But, if you go play in Tahoe or NOLA, she does not. I have had a NUMBER of hosts confirm this for me and this is why I have hosts in each market. My original Vegas host paired me with contacts in the other markets. They get my play when I go there, but in return she gets their customers' play when they come to Vegas.

Does anyone know if Vegas is the same CET market as Laughlin so I should have a different host for those two places?

I agree. I was just answering the question about whether hosts get credit for your play. They do!

That may also explain, in part, why my AC host (I make Seven Stars 95% based on AC play) is exponentially more responsive and helpful than my LV host.

Laughlin is a separate market from Vegas. Your Vegas host should be able to book you there. But since I'm familiar with your play from board postings, you'd be better off having a host on Laughlin property.

I've heard that a host's commission is in the neighborhood of 10-15% of a player's theo. Depending on the place, that could be 2-6% of a player's comp value (the real number that's important, since a massive table player is either going to win big or lose several tens of times more than theo).

They must get some base credit even if you don’t book through them. I’m sure nowhere near as much. I asked a regional host if I booked through Wojos if he would still earn something m. He said yes, they had Wojo’s junkets come in often and go ahead I’d I received one I wanted to go on as he would still get credit. Made no indication of how much, if any, variance but I’d really expect the charter company to get a portion also.

Evidently a host definitely wants to also do your first booking at a new unassigned prop. I got a very uptight call from LV host when I booked at another regional prop on a comp offer myself for a first time stay. I apologized & offered to cancel and let him book but he said it was too late. Maybe they get a bonus for convincing you to try a new place?

I know this started as a CET based question and it's a very interesting topic.

How does this apply to Venetian? It seems like everyone with a grazie card will have a host assigned regardless of tier level. Venetian's hosts page lists various titles for their hosts. Do the lower tier hosts need to book for their assigned players? Should I feel bad that I always send email questions to my Venetian host but I never ask her to book anything? I always book it online myself. She has always been helpful in answering all my questions and is never pushy about asking me to take another trip. Maybe for her it doesn't matter if she books it or I book it. Would really love to know more about Venetian hosts.

Different market. I have a host at Laughlin but I rarely go there and don't generate the same Theo as Vegas, but I do have contact info for a host there if you need it.

I understand that my host gets credit when I use them to make arrangements for my stays, what about drop in play? Do they get anything then? I will be in town for one day, no hotel stay needed so I wasn't even going to alert my host that I was in town. Will she still get any sort of credit? Should I alert her just so she knows that I will be playing there? For context, this is at V/P if it matters!

@SoccerMomNC I'm not 100% sure if it will matter, but either way I would only alert her if you're going to play to your normal level.

So in all my years of living in Vegas and visiting since I moved away back home about 12 years ago, I've never really used my players card, just never got a good vibe and felt like I was doing better without it. Each time I come in I stay 5 nights and bring a BR of $5k, which between my wins probably end up playing into the casinos around 8-10k while I'm there on my stay. I guess I never really thought about comps because it always seemed to me like they weren't really giving much away, but I'm reading some articles on here and it seems like some people are getting pretty sweet rooms, waived resort fees, FP, getting hosts, etc. Maybe I should start using my card? IDK. I always felt like Vegas got so tight with the freebies. Do you guys who have hosts, and use your comps, etc think BR of $5k and playing in $8-10k with my wins is enough to get anything back? We sometimes casino jump, I play alot of $1 and $5 slots and usually max bet of $6 or more when I play lower denominations, black jack at $25-50 a hand but I've always thought I was low rolling,, lol.. I'm a caesars platinum card holder but really haven't used my card in a few years, staying at the venetian my next stay which I'm sure expects a higher spend and I will end up still playing mostly at Caesars properties anyway. Love to get everyone's thoughts on this? Am I crazy and am I leaving that much on the table?

Not anymore, you're not (unless you earned 5000 TC in 2019).

    Um... yes.

    It depends.

Concentrating your play at way fewer properties (or, in the case of the major conglomerates, within the same family) is optimal.

We really don't have a clear enough idea about your play to be able to provide you with the accurate answers you require. You told us what bankroll you bring, and some number that seems to be your slot coin-in. You even peppered in some table game play and gave some idea about the kinds of slots you play. What we don't know is how much of your designated trip bankroll typically remains at the end of a typical five-night trip or the number of hours per day (or per trip) you typically play.

Based on the casino-hopping habit you have, your play is probably worth discounted rooms at Venetian and mid-week comped rooms at lower- to mid-tier Caesars properties. You'll get something but have realistic expectations. Even if that play is concentrated at one Strip property, it's probably not host-worthy.

I must also add that this isn't the first time I've heard of Vegas locals -- past or present -- not wanting to use a player's club card.

The only reason not to use a players card is if you're an advantage player and you don't want them tracking your play. As just a local player who runs money through machines, you definitely should be.
I don't have a sense of how much your play is because I'm a table game player. But, I can share with you some of the free things Caesars has given me in the last year or two
    MacBook Pro worth $2400
    MacBook Air worth $1200
    iPhone 12 pro worth $1000
    Two 82' TVs worth $1300 each (2600)
    Coach Watch $300
    Mattress $750
A number of Gift Cards (est. 2500)
    Free play (est. 5000)
A few Christmas presents (call it $500)
About 30 nights a year at Caesars (Whatever that's worth to you $3000-7500 per year)
Easily $5000 in food per year
A number of limo rides (call it $1000)
Plane rides (about $2400 a year)
    Two cruises (say $1000)
Tickets to a number of shows. Most recently, Usher, which was worth $532.
And probably some other crap I can't remember.

Even though I've probably forgotten some stuff and I'm using estimates, there's probably $40,000 worth of stuff there over the past two years.
