Similar here, trips booked and canceled...was really hoping my 60th in August would be a party in Vegas but highly unlikely; especially with the new Astra Zeneca vaccine fiasco in Ontario. We are booked for Christmas and if there are still quarantine hotels, closed borders etc, I will lose my sense of humour.

The quarantine hotels upon return aren't that expensive... you can stay for just over $100 per night, depending on where you choose.
However, I have a feeling things will be changing for the better quite quickly over the next month or 2. Wouldn't be surprised if the border is open by the end of summer.

I have not been coming to this website since cancelling my 3rd consecutive trip. I needed to take a mental break from thinking about Vegas.

That is over now. We are booked for our 2nd wedding anniversary October 19th week. Even if we have to quarantine we are still going. We will both have had our second poke next week.

I am going all in, I also spend $1k on Genesis tickets at LCA in Detroit Nov 29th.

    Good luck, guys!!

Bit of luck we'll follow, given how low rates are here.

Gaggles, I hope this time for sure! They've been announcing that they are closed for another month for what seems like at least a year.

While I know most people in this thread are trying to get out of Canada, I can't wait to get back in. I had a trip planned for mid-March 2020 to go to River Rock in BC and eat my body weight of dim sum in Richmond. I'm ready for it. Let's go! :)

@Gaggles the link for border reopening has been deleted. I googled canada us border june 22, and it showed a global news article that has also been deleted. Thread going on reddit about it, people there saw the same articles that are now deleted, but someone on there captured the text. If true, it appears that only the u.s. side to Canada may be opening June 22, and those crossing will still have to quarantine in Canada. Dang, I was so thrilled to see a possibility of going back to u.s. shortly after June 22, but doesn't appear likely anytime soon for us Canadians. Here's the text info from the article 98FEFEEE-E445-40E8-BD5B-21C522B70D7D.png

I read that article this morning, smile ear to ear. I wish I could believe it to be true and I am sure hoping it is. Although I really don't believe it to be until this is confirmed.

Yaaaa, not true. Nothing has changed in Canada. Maybe going south but not coming back north. You still have to quarantine as of right now. I am in the outfitting business in Saskatchewan. We are still hearing fall at the earliest for tourists. I would love to be wrong though!

:( I'm sorry. I'll keep my eyes open for good news. Maybe it will come up at the G7 on June 11-13. *fingers crossed*

Unfortunately, can't see the Cdn side opening up. The 4 step plan for BC announced yesterday doesn't even suggest inter-provincial travel until July 1, let alone international travel.

I'm betting on August 22. But then again, about a year ago I was thinking after Labor Day 2020.

Trudeau said he wants 75 pct 2 doses before a full reopen. Optimistically the earliestfor that is August.

Past that the best we can hope earlier is some relaxed restrictions for people with 2 pokes.

Keep calm, enjoy the Canadian summer, and if they make me cancel my November trip,

We had some outside hope for a late summer jaunt to AC. Still praying to the casino gods that it happens. We should have had our second jab by then. Until the quarantine ends that won't be happening even if the borders are opened. Patience is the key. Although that is wearing razor thin at this point. Especially since I can drive 30 minutes to Niagara and almost reach out and touch Seneca. Arrrggghhh.

I'm not holding my breath for a June ease of restrictions for cross border travel but I do believe that things will be developing very fast in the States over the next 90 days and Canada will be hard pressed to keep the border closed. I expect they give in to international travel by Sept. So much so that I've booked a trip to the Bahamas in December and fully expect to book a trip to Vegas for later Sept or early October once the true die-hards like Gaggles, Breanna et al do a 3 1/2 gainer off the deep end in rushing to Vegas and airline ticket prices will hopefully come into line.

Oh Seneca, I miss it so much. Would go about once a month for 2 nights, friends in next room, great slots, steakhouse, concerts, shopping before crossing back, was last there February before the shutdown. They're serving alcohol in there again on the floor. 'Nothing else comes close'...well except for Vegas.

BC cannot deny inter provincial travel. The are not sitting at the Alberta-BC border denying entry. Law enforcement can choose to stop and ask questions but they cannot deny entry. They can also publicly discourage it. The Premier in BC attempted to get hotels in BC/Vancouver to cancel hotel reservations to people outside of BC and the Hotel Association told Horgan to suck it.

Not only will I be meeting JR in Vegas in July, the Gaggles will be packing up the family truckster for a Tahoe-Cali-Utah-Montana good old fashioned family fun road trip in August for a couple weeks.

I can vouch for that. Had to Fly to Prince George through Vancouver to drive back a motorhome to Alberta this last weekend. No issues, no problems. Lots of people going camping into the BC interior and no issues from RCMP or local police. Heading to the lower mainland is a different story but no one wants to vacation there when they can be in the Okanagan.
