Last night I made spicy Asian meatballs with Jasmine rice, miso-glazed veggies, and this amazing sauce (sauce from a HelloFresh recipe - SO good!).

Tonight I might do pork tacos, or pork burgers with carmelized onions and smoked Gouda. Mmm.

Mexican street style carne asada tacos (with sirloin though, no flank or skirt steak to be found), Mexican rice (from a package... meh) and street style corn. Very happy with how it all turned out (well except the rice)

    Define "good seedy bread"

No seriously! I hate "stuff" in my bread, but I like trying new things and maybe it could change my mind. Maybe.

I make a regular bread dough and mix in dill weed and grated Parmesan and roll thin like a tortilla. Throw on the grill and brush with EVOO and sprinkle with Kosher salt after it lightly browns. Keeps the guests fed while you make the real food.

The in-laws are invading tomorrow. We plan to get them out in the great outdoors as much as possible. But we also gotta eat. For dinners we're thinking:

Gotta get takeaway pizza one night. We'll do that on our Yosemite day. (I'm making an olive spread tonight for muffulettas which will be our picnic in the park.)

I picked up a 4-pound ribeye. We'll reverse roast that and serve it with blueberry-ancho sauce and on the side grilled asparagus and a fresh corn saute with Manchego.

Arrival night we'll do shrimp and grits, and an arugula salad tossed with capers, red onion, preserved lemon and Pecc-Romano.

Finally, grilled chicken, prosciutto and bread skewers, and a tomato-beet salad.

OK, this is time to show off my son's cooking skills. He's just learning how to cook, and asked me for a recipe that included chicken breast with cheese and lemon zest. I had a chicken breast in the fridge, and I found a recipe on the internet that I thought was simple enough for him to do.

I gave him the recipe and instructions on zesting a lemon.

Here is him preparing and seasoning the chicken

Here is him battering the chicken

Here it is in the pan, first side

Here he is flipping it to the second side

    Here is the finished product

I made a sandwich out of one of the pieces. IMHO, It turned out quite well (even though I am NOT a chicken breast fan). I told him that he could experiment with things like thyme was in the batter (along with Panko and parmesan cheese). He could try different spices, such as garlic, or just leave it be.

I have some chicken wings with my drunken chicken rub on the Weber along with a mac salad(not on the Weber), and from the garden, green beans, cukes, celery, cherry tomatoes. I think I could have just cooked the chicken wings ala Cousin Eddie it's so hot here.

No photo of the tomato, beet and mint salad. (Cooked on a flattop as we are churning through propane and I didn't get the tanks refilled before the weekend.)

Tonight is "Look in the refrigerator and eat what-ever is in there" night.

    Hopefully there's something...…..:p

Those kind of dinners can be the best! :feedme:

In our house we call a fine dinner such as yours - 'clean out the fridge buffet'.

    Bon appetit
