I just threw a roast, potatoes, and carrots in the crock pot -- and getting ready for bed. I marinated the roast in Goya Mojo Criollo. I've used it as a marinade for chicken fajitas and it is the bombdoodler. The bottle says you can use it on beef and i had half a bottle left in the fridge. Dumped the carrots and potatoes on bottom and the roast and marinade juice on top and then sprinkled Lipton's Onion Soup mix on top. All these years I found out I have been cooking my pot roast and veggies wrong in the slow cooker. I used to put my meat on bottom. Last night I was checking different recipes and saw that is was recommended to put root vegetables on the bottom of the crock pot. Shit!! Oh and this time I remembered to plug in my crock pot and turn it on low. I'm notorious for forgetting one of the two.

I have some steak tips marinating in a maple/bourbon/brown sugar mix with some soy and worcestershire and black pepper to put on the Weber for supper. Fresh picked corn on the cob, also on the Weber, and baked potatoes.
Too hot and muggy to cook indoors. Also fresh cukes and cherry tomatoes from the garden.
    And lots of cold beer.

In such instances remember to keep an Emerilism close at hand: "Hey, we're really cooking here."

Pasta here last night. Shrooms, onion and a WAD of garlic. Toss in cooked pasta and another shot of good olive oil and quickly saute with fresh parsley. Add black pepper, caribe and some Parm-Regg. Grilled chicken Italian sausage. Steamed carrots.

Tonight I plan to grill some chix breasts, cut them into strips and stir fry them with fresh zucchini and string beans from my new garden! I also will include store bought carrots since my garden carrots are not ready.

Hope it comes out better than last nights ma po tofu, lol!!

I'm going to soak Porky in our teri marinade and grill it. Szechuan green beans. And I'm thinking I'll pull together some kinda sesame-y cold edamame noodle salad. I know, a lot of green, gonna be a weird-looking plate.

Yum! :feedme: I haven't been fortunate enough to have an authentic gumbo and I don't think I have the talent to make a good one.

But I did eat gumbo at Cheesecake Factory. I know, I know, lol! But it was good.!

Maybe one day I'll be able to visit N.O. and eat gumbo at a famous restaurant.

We think out a good number of our week's meals in advance since we're still trying to limit runs to the grocery store.

But I'm kinda on EDT today as I had two early a.m. phone interviews with folks back east.

It gives me something to think about while playing Candy Crush and pretending there is no laundry to do.

No cooking today. Daughter wants fried scallops and chips for her birthday.

I'm either going with a Lobstah Roll or fried haddock.
