passing away of my wife

Chef, we've never met and only talked on the phone once (during one of your crazy Vegas trips with a friend of yours), but I've found a lot of happiness in your posts over the years and now find myself deeply saddened by the passing of your wife. All the best.

 

Solo trips to Vegas can be to recharge, to wander aimlessly or with purpose through the town, escape from reality and live an anonymous few days without whatever pressures and responsibilities are back home or to eat, drink and gamble. I'm sure your solo trips were not in any way to be apart from your wife for reasons other than to have fun the way you wanted to do it. She was obviously encouraging of your trips, as my wife has been. I know this next trip will be totally different for you and your life without her to come home to. You deserve to have her spirit along with you and find a new experience. People say "sorry for your loss". I know you haven't lost the love and companionship of a 40 year marriage. Strength and courage will get you through this time in your life.

I totally feel what your going through. At 36 I never thought this would be my life. My dad was diagnosed with Cancer this April. My parents have been married 45 years! I’m an only child and this has hit me harder than anyone can imagine. Prayers for you and I hope you feel peace! As we all know, those of us, who deal with this stupid disease know they are in such a better place! Best wishes!

Hey Andy, I live up the road in Rockford! So sorry to hear about your wife . My wife isn't huge on gambling, so I go solo quite often, who knows, maybe one of these days we can link up and shoot out there for a weekend. I'm 36 years old, but don't do the clubbing or anything like that, I'm pretty laid back. It would be fun to go with someone who is as big of a Vegas fanatic as I am.
