I’m holding out hope they go back to some what of a traditional method for VP. All people can do is keep bashing them on the surveys and boycott the prosperities in the mean time

Don’t think there is any tier point change. NSUD still appears to be $185 per point.
Ran $190 through, got 1 tier point.

Wow. Just got a mailer from Boyd. It says "Congratulations! You have been awarded Tier credits".

Boyd added 2400 tier credits to my account. So that keeps me Sapphire for 2020.

I guess that is the extra credits added to my account that I found the other week. So at least I don't have to worry about Boyd finding out about the extra credits and removing them anymore.

But still, I will probably try to add another 175 credits when I go to vegas in September so that I actually earned the 750 credits to be Sapphire.

Hi all. I know lots of this is for VP. I play VP and craps and I can’t figure out how the tier points work for craps. I don’t seem to earn very much. I’m usually a low sapphire but at this rate I won’t make the 750 credits. The amount of tier points I earn each session seem really low. I have no idea.

The kiosk at Main Street currently shows only promotions and drawings as options when accessing your account. I went to the Boyd online account and took a screenshot. We’ll see what happens over the next 4 days.

I got an extra 270 or so tier points to go with the random 495 or so they gave out at the start of the year, so I'm Sapphire for 2020 with no gambling this year!

That is amazing. It seems like they may have people that they want to keep as costumers who are not subject to their rules. I have read a lot of stories of people being given tier credits, but never an entire tier level worth. A number of people have also reported getting bumped up to tier levels they hadn't earned under the new program. Do they also send you enticing offers? Sapphire at Boyd is equivalent to sign up level at other programs, so I can see how they might be reluctant to allow their more valued costumers to drop to Ruby. Congratulations.
Last year my 250,000 plus points and emerald card converted into hundreds of negative tier credits. I actually had less than zero TC's. Eventually they increased that to a few hundred tier credits and they let me be Sapphire for the rest of 2018. So I guess they waived their rules for me as well.

With the downgrade of tier levels it seems to me that Ruby is for initial sign-ups only as they are now on the BConnected data list. Anyone that gambles will get pushed to Sapphire which in reality is very easy to get with a little gambling. Mid-level is Emerald.

Playing 9/6 JOB takes over $80,000 coin through to get to Sapphire. Once I get to Sapphire, I get to earn points. I can join a player's club at M life, Cet, South Point, Stations, the Nuggets, etc and earn points that day. At many of those parking is also free. While Ruby is Boyd's entry level, its Sapphire is more comparable to other club's entry level. I read posts that report that getting to Sapphire comes with an expected loss in the ball park of $400. I realize that there are ways to get it cheaper, but most VP players that I know who don't have Sapphire no longer play at Boyd unless they are grabbing a couple drinks at BHB.

People say Emerald is mid level, but the amount of money that would need to be played on VP to reach it is FAR from mid level. I would like to know how many Onyx and Titanium members there truly are as well, I doubt it's all that high.

And if I remember the formula from previous posts about calculating tier credits it would take over $1,600,000 coin through if playing 9/6 JOB exclusively to reach Emerald. (Someone please correct this if incorrect). Just not realistic for the $0.25 video poker player. To be somewhat fair to Boyd, you can reach Emerald much faster if you play higher house edge games, especially regular slots.

I’m sorry, Mr. Boyd. I’m not playing as a Ruby to earn nothing in the form of comps. Keep sending me two room nights: I’m staying elsewhere. We had our moments. I’ve moved on.

Good luck figuring out coin in. When checking your account at the kiosk you have a choice of promotions and drawings available. There is no longer a choice for checking point balance which showed tier and bonus points.
It used to be you could track play also using the “welcome” screen when you entered your card to play. It still says “Welcome ....”. “You currently have xxxxx bonus points”. Then merely shows GOOD LUCK.
It used to show a 0 and (as I recall) every 2$’s played (at sapphire level) would cause the counter to register and at the end of play if 500 was registered you had a pretty good idea of coin in being 1000. Not any more.
I went to ask for my free play to he added and inquired about my coin in this trip or this day and was told it wasn’t available. I just assumed she couldn’t access that information so I waited to ask my host. She said she was only able to show my tier credits earned and did. But I already knew that as I had logged in on line and done a screen shot upon arrival since I couldn’t get it at the kiosk.
So, saying you get one tier credit per xxxx$’s in is going to be tricky to determine. Determining accurate point accumulation will also be difficult since you have no idea how to calculate unless you keep track of hands played at what denomination.
And as far as I was told this is not just a short time out, this is part of the new system.
This is an example of what used to available on the kiosk which no longer can be found.

So you are saying there will be no way to track "daily" coin-in and therefore hands played with the new system. What possible business reason could there be to eliminate this feature for the customer? Every other casino we play at has a some type of tracking system to allow this. I am hoping this is temporary. What is it with this company????

it takes me around $109 to $110 per tier credit. I barely made $250,000 through playing a mixture of .25c, .50c, and $1's. I don't think that anyone who has to travel to a casino is going to make Emerald playing JOB. I think that would require about 330,000 hands of dollar play. On the other hand, folks playing 9/5 DDB at BHB might have to pay a quarter of that.

I believe this is correct. So it takes 15,000 tier credits for Emerald status. $110.00 X 15,000 = $1,650,000 coin-in. Coming from Texas and playing $0.25 video poker no way to get there.

For $2M VP coin in at Pinnacle Gaming's properties, you would get a free one year lease of a Mercedes. Of course, that was before they were bought out last year. Good to know that Emerald status has similar benefits.

So when Boyd offers 11X points promotions (YAH and other occasions) how are we supposed to know if we even got the bonus points. If the machine itself shows nothing but "Welcome" and "Good Luck" and your Tier Credits, are we just supposed to trust that we got the extra points. I would think they would be required to prove you received the points if it was advertised. Something seems really amiss here. Maybe someone can corner the right person and hopefully get some answers.
