I look at this as god's way of punishing Boyd for their STUPID change to Bconned 2.0. Also for removing the Cal café downstairs.

As always it depends on time at the table and money laid out there. BJ is not a particularly good comp source vs slots or craps or the carney games. Go with it til it dries up.

I’d say machines rate better. They capture every $.
Unless your playing green and black chip BJ and asking the pit how they rated you every time you’re done there’s a possibility you’re not getting rated fairly.

Truthfully you both should play on the same card. That would maximize your comps.
That’s worked really well for my wife and I since we started doing that last year.

For another point of view: Ex-girlfriend and I must have made 70+ trips where we each used our own cards and received our own offers. We'd each get 3 free nights here and a few nights there and never had any difficulty combining them at check in. Opinions obviously vary, but I'm convinced we would have gotten far fewer nights had we combined our play on a single card.

We play on a single card and get limo, RFB and a suite but the max offers are always 4 nights. Our host never has a problem adding nights, but the mailers are always 3-4. If we played on two cards, not sure the comps would be as good. But, if all you want are comped rooms, then yes, I would say play two cards.

Joe: You play at a higher level and we used to, which I'm sure makes a big difference.

Another thing that I've noticed: While my mailers and my food & free slot play are only at the O,SC,ST &GC, I can still get 2 comped rooms at the other Downtown Boyds. This is either something new or something they don't like to announce for some reason. ( I DO a lot of gambling when I play DT, especially at the Boyds.) A few years ago they included all the Boyd casinos in our mailers/ home page. I liked to be able to go from the DT properties to the Orleans.
I dunno, I guess I'm still miffed at the beconnected re-vamp.

Just got back from MSS - system was down Monday and Tuesday (at least when i left at noon). Either they hired or internally have an incompetent web team or they got hacked and haven't been able to recover fully yet. Then again, ,maybe there's really a major overhaul behind the scenes going on but their web GUI is pretty damn weak.

Their web gui has always been weak, but I believe this is the final step of their conversion to the new loyalty software they bought into last year that they are stumbling with. I think they had two old systems for the downtown vs non dt hotels that the website was trying to patch together on the front end, so this is some kind of messy migration of all of that into one new system. And the tier stuff is likely getting further muddied by tier bonuses, etc.

So I got this reply yesterday (Tues 7/23) from the Cal/MSS GM to my complaint about the system:

    Hi Joe,

So sorry. This is the last big hurdle of getting our properties on the new upgraded platform. It was such a big job it took them 3 weeks to upgrade all 3 regions. Our system is just starting to come up now. Hopefully in a few hours we should be good to go. Thanks again for being so patient, and letting me know.

That's a very plausible explanation. They obviously don't have much of a QA department or they outsourced a completely incompetent one.

    Hey Now!
well the app and the website are working for me now here in VA.
The bad news is that both Sweet Ti and I have exactly the same tear points as before this whole mess started.

I now have tier points through the Bconned app as well as B Connected Points.

Update: Same old tier points, no revision up.

My same old tier credits are also showing up. Nothing! You'd think they might at least say "Here's an extra 20 tier credits for being such a good customer", but nope, I got nothing.
