At that time I lived in Cuyahoga Falls. Richfield and Blossom Music Center were both damned convenient for me. But you are right.

As a high school student living in Minnesota, my uncle took me to see my beloved Chicago Bears play the Vikings. It was October, I think. Memories are vague all these years later, but the Bears pulled off a comeback win with Jim McMahon coming off the bench. He has injured, so he didn't start, IIRC.

That was the Bears' 15-1 season, and Super Bowl championship. I got to see that Super Bowl team play during the regular season. I was very fortunate.

I've been to several Vikings games over the years, and the former Metrodome remains the only stadium where I have watched the NFL. I'd like to go to Soldier Field one time. Perhaps one day I will.

No I looked it up after I posted..1983..Pretty sure I remember that game you mean, right away my memory takes me to a local bar's tv and something about the teams all shaking hands afterwards?

BTW in 1987 My friends and I attended a 'Scab' game on MNF at the Meadowlands..Niners at the Giants..Place was pretty empty and before the game Al Micheals was interviewing Bill Walsh on the field and I clapped my hands and Micheals shot me a look that could kill..

Buddy of mine fell asleep and we tried to get the attention of a cameraman closeby, never know if it made it to the air..

Lot of the Giant Season tix holders just sat in their own seats so there were people scattered around with a ton of empty seats around them.Crazy night in NJ..

It was the Boston Braves who moved to Milwaukee. The Brewers started life as the Seattle ? and moved to Milwaukee in 1969.

Ooops! didn't see it was already posted. Bonus points to who can remember that Seattle teams name. They had a big yellow S on their caps, in fact, I have one.

First regular season NFL game? 1971, MNF, against Bears. Low scoring, 14 -7, but the Eagles never had a chance. Dick Butkus was still playing and he blew up the Eagles' D.

I was hooked. Bought 2 season tickets the next year in the 700 level at the Vet (total cost for two season tickets, $56!. That's one trip to the concession stand these days). Kept them for 17 years. Gave them up after a miserable losing playoff game in the cold rain against the Rams which no one else wanted to go to.

After moving to Maryland, annually somehow found tickets to the Eagles at Redskins game that went on for about 15 years until my buddy got too sick to go anymore.

1953: Boston Braves move to Milwaukee. 1966: Braves move to Atlanta. 1970: Seattle Pilots, who played one year in Washington State (1969), move to Milwaukee and become the Brewers.

The '69 Pilots played at Sick Stadium in Seattle. By March '70, a judge ruled them bankrupt which paved the move to Milwaukee.

But a team that plays at Sick Stadium lasted a year before going broke. There is certainly some symmetry there.

I had an uncle who was one of those knows-everybody-in-town guys in Foxboro and lived near the stadium, so we went up there a couple of times on a Sunday morning in the 70's, the main access gates were open so we just went and threw the ball around on the field and nobody paid any attention. I went to a lot of concerts at the old stadium, but I actually don't remember going to any games before I bought season tickets the morning after Otis hired Parcells in 1993.

My mom had a boss with Bears season tickets. He would give her tickets once a year for games he didn't want to go to, usually a home game against the Bucs. I am pretty sure the first game we went to was in 87 because I know we got to see Payton play and I know the Bears won.

Gonna show my age, but it was Dec 3, 1972. I was a "Marching Girl" with my high school & we were performing at half time of the Patriots-Dolphins game at Schaefer Stadium. We were required to stand on the sidelines on a particular hash mark just before half time to be in position for our high precision performance, and my mark was right where the Dolphins ran off the field. I will never forget the sight of those gigantic men thundering toward me, or the moment when Vern Den Herder stepped on my foot. I will also never forget those gorgeous eyes as I damn near swooned when he reached out to steady me :blowkiss:

That was the Dolphins perfect season, and it's kind of cool to have an obscure connection to that little piece of history. I am a die hard Pats fan, but have always had a soft spot for the Dolphins :)

My first NFL game was in 1991(?), Soldier Field, Bears vs. Vikings. I had a really good seat. I was on the sideline taking pictures.

Even though the NFL now has games over here in the UK, I haven't been to one yet, but i'm intending to make my first ever game be a Raiders game when they finally move to Vegas.

I went to one of those scab games in MN, too. My buddy and I, two nerdy high school dudes, wind up with tickets. My buddy's older sister is a beautiful young woman, and talented. Perfect combo to be a Vikings cheerleader. I think her weekly salary for those games was two decent lower level seats, which she could sell and pocket a few bucks. Not a great paying gig, but occasionally cheerleaders would get paid to make appearances, or so I was told.

I think Jeff and I ended up with tickets to one of the Vikings' replacement games because her sister had nothing else to do with them and ended up giving them to us. I was a big Chicago Bears fan, Jeff couldn't have cared less about football. We sat around and talked during the game. I did try to follow the action on the field. There were plenty of good seats still available all thru the game.

Outside there were plenty of people, including players, encouraging fans not to support the garbage about to be played inside. I don't remember which side was the villain 30 years ago, but it was ballsy of the players and their supporters to rip on fans for using tickets they had already paid for, and were stuck with. It wasn't the fans' fault that games that would count in the standings were being played by scabs, but according to players, the fans should have willingly forfeited the cash they paid for those tickets in order to support the players.

I have the stub from that game, somewhere. It was Oct. 4, according to Wikipedia, against Green Bay. It was the only replacement game played in MN, evidently.

My first NFL game was with the ex in Champaign while Soldier Field was being renovated. We walked from my apartment, quite far, and while we were walking, we thought we forgot the tickets. Shit! We start walking back But I had her look again, and she did have them. It was a snooze fest with the eventual champs Tampa Bay Bucs. They won on 5 Martin Grammatica FGs, 15-0. I think someone in the stands was smoking pot too. Lol And sure as hell seemed colder than 38 that night.

NY Giants vs Atlanta ( the new expansion team ! )
    in OLD Yankee Stadium .
We were given tickets - went w/ my father and.....?.......
Read on the ticket "Field Box"
Whow ! Field Box !..........I was so pumped !
Worst seats in the stadium !............on the ground level.
We couldn't see any action on the field cos the players bench blocked our view !
I'd see the ball go up in the air.......that was about it.
Atlanta was playing their 1st round draft pick at QB - from U. of Georgia
Fran Tarkenton was his name.........wonder what happened to him ?
Yes........he scrambled all over the field.......once in a while I saw him running -
    Pretty disappointing day.
    *
My second game was the exact opposite !
    A couple seasons later -
A friend takes me to Yankee Stadium, again
He says "These seats are in the right field bleachers - last row ."
    I grown to myself......"Here we go again ! shitty seats ! "
We were on the 50 yd line !.........the way the football field was aligned !
My back leaning up against the wall - nobody behind me being annoying !
    GREAT ! SEATS !
    Giants vs Steelers

My first was the Bears in 2009 at Candlestick Park. It was pretty dreadful. Both teams played like amateurs. 49ers got the win after Cutler threw like 5 interceptions.

More special was that I was able to take my mom and my dad to their first NFL games. 2011, I took my dad to see the Raiders vs the Bears in Oakland. In the 70's they'd show the Raiders games in Chicago, he quickly adopted them as his #1 team - Raiders won. The following year, I returned to Candlestick with my mom to see the Bears play - they lost again. I figured it was the least I could do; they took me into the city for the '85 Superbowl Parade. They are both gone, now, so I'm so thankful for those memories.

My first and only NFL game was last year, me and a mate of mine went to Atlantic City in Oct. He is in to NFL more than me, I'm more Baseball. When we were planning the trip he asked if I would be interested in going to watch the Philadelphia Eagles while we were there. I said I would as I thought it would be an experience. We did really enjoy it and it was a great experience.. Only problem was we couldn't see all the game as we had to get back in to Philadelphia to get the train back to Atlantic City.
