When we're in Vegas we only dine at buffets.

I did a bunch of cardio and cut myself down to 1500 calories a day since coming back from Vegas and lost all the weight I gained from eating buffets. Was it worth it? Damn straight it was. I would do it again -- and probably will on the next trip! LOL!

Love it, my man. I've been on a 1500 calorie diet for a month getting ready to take on Mr. Buffet, of course excluding alcohol, and I drop the weight fast. When I return from Vegas I can lose 8 pounds in a week...no problemo.....no diet in Vegas...nada. :licklips:

I would get sick of them after more than twice so only one or two per trip!

I would do it but I would not be able to control my eating. It would be too much food.

That's part of being in Vegas...everything, and I mean everything, is over the top. I say...GO FOR IT! Unless health reasons prevent it.
    LOL

I was not clear. At buffets I usually eat until I am sick in the stomach and about to :vomit:. Not pleasant.

I am not a clock watcher so unless it's unusually late or early, I can't get a reservation at the better restaurants. The rush I get in the casino over rides the desire to eat. I have even had some restaurant freebee's from the pit critters and still missed out because I was too tired and went straight to my room.

We also do about half buffets, half sit-down meals, but sometimes will do both breakfast and dinner buffets in the same day. I don't eat three meals a day at home and couldn't do it on vacation either. We make good use of the BOGO coupons from ACG and LVA. Very rarely eat a meal without some kind of discount because less money spent on meals mean more money to gamble with!

I always like to eat a large meal at the Wynn buffet for breakfast so that I'm full until dinnertime. For around 20 dollars, you can get pretty much all the cafe breakfast food that you'd want and more at a fraction of the price, so I feel like it's one of the better values in Vegas.

We usually do at least 1 buffet a day. Its usually a late breakfast/brunch as we are NEVER up early. That will usually take us until much later in the day when we wing it and eat wherever we are at. We don't typically like to plan meals (or much of anything) in Vegas, as I like my trips to be less planned and more based on what we feel like doing that day. But the day almost always starts with a buffet! When in Vegas.....

I used to do this with my parents. They eat buffets exclusively and go quite often. They eat Wicked Spoon, Bacchannal, Mandalay Bay, Wynn, and Bally Sterling Brunch. They have had them all though - they dislike almost all the CET buffets except the two mentioned. MGM has gone downhill over the years. Worst buffet by their call would be Luxor - which Ive had myself and Ive been at some run down golden corrals that tasted better.

I'm not really that picky, but the Luxor and Excaliber are two that we would not choose again....too many better options.

I used to do the same thing as the OP...
Breakfast Buffet, then an early dinner buffet...but as the prices have risen (without coupons or discounts!) it's usually just the breakfast buffet now (always just the same thing, no matter where; omelette with everything in it, and hash browns and a biscuit, then cover it all with Country Throw-Up Gravy); because the dinner buffets are $25 per person (and I'm cheap!)

I'll do a breakfast buffet (MSS, Stations or Orleans)for the fruit and cereal, Other than that we always hit GVR for a lunch buffet once per trip. As others have mentioned nothing wrong with buffets if you enjoy it. Always using the LVA 2 for 1 too.

That is what Vegas is all about doing what you enjoy.

During my first visits many years ago, visiting as many buffets during the trip was a must. Nowadays, as I've got a little older, the appeal is not the same, but I do try to do at least one per trip.

I personally could not imagine eating buffets in Vegas with all of the quality restaurants in the city, however I know many folks love them and eat them all the time, each person has their own preferences, that's what makes the world go round :)

I have eaten two meals at buffets in over 70 trips.
Dinner at Bellagio buffet 12 years ago and lunch at Aria buffet 2 years ago.

    Think I'm done now.
