Damn notifications made this anti-climatic to me. I never caught up on DVR.

That's on me though, obviously. :(

"Doc" Emrick: "I don't think this has ever been said before; we'll wrap it up from Vegas; it's only five after eleven Eastern Time."

Eddie Olczyk: "Speak for yourself, Doc!!!"

OV was invisible tonight.....unlike previous series where he was crushing opponents, shooting and scoring. I don't think there's going to be a dull moment in this entire series, still anyone's cup to win..... hey..... the pre game entertainment at T Mobile is electric... anyone see the John Wick movies? Same crazy music as what's played just before game start.

Yes, the pre game entertainment was entertaining as always. Nice to see Penn & Teller represent Rio and Caesars in their bit :vomit:
I'm still predicting Knights in 5. Fleury was human tonight, i expect him to bounce back and regain his immortality in the series.

Hope you're right. If this is Fleury's performance for the entire series, I would bet on the Caps.

Got my hat the day they went on sale

Finally got my shirt this week - need to decide on what place to write in - home town in Northern Ontario? town I lived for 20 years in near Toronto? New town of three years in Niagara???

Leaning on the "The Big Nickel" for those in the know...

If Vegas wins in 5, I'll be there for the parade. If it goes 6-7 games, I'll be there during the series (and also the parade if they win). I'm not a huge hockey fan, but I enjoy it, and what I really enjoy is the insanity of a big sports weekend in Vegas. My favorite time of the year to visit is during the opening weekend of March Madness. This upcoming trip, I will be there for the Belmont, NBA Finals Games 4+ (probably only going 4 games) and potentially the Stanley Cup Finals. Pretty exciting! Go Knights!

For those of you who will be in town in the days after the series, and if Vegas wins - don't miss your chance to be seen with The Cup. They parade that thing around town to every popular haunt imaginable....the last time it was won in Chicago the team partied with it in the locker room until about 4 AM, then the thing ends up at The Mid (a near north Chicago nightclub) with Johnny Oduya and a bunch of other Hawks plus fans getting down with that thing:D The tour continued in town for at least another week - and that was just the initial celebratory round.

It's the best championship trophy in existence, and when won, it is shared in the community like no other. So even if you're five days after the theoretical win, and you're in Vegas, you just might have a rendezvous with that thing.....

The last 2 major sports championships have been won by teams who have never won one before: Houston Astros and the beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

I'm still pulling for the Caps, who also have never won a championship, but this will go down as a remarkable, once in a lifetime thing if VGK does it.

In recent years we have seen the Cubs and the Red Sox break through.

I'm sort of lost in my ramble here. I'm just saying, recent years have seen some huge upsets.

Note: Wow, they sure go all out with the pregame show!

It's ended up at the bottom of swimming pools, forgotten and left behind in airports, there is a photo of a hottie in a bikini sitting on it and drinking. I personally came within 6 inches of touching it during the Flyers Cup parade in 1974. Terry Crisp swatted my hand away.

Thanks for posting this. The Stanley Cup's journeys through the years is fascinating.

I saw a documentary once about a week or two in the life of the Stanley Cup. The documentary was more focused on the handlers of the Cup though and how they traveled with it and provided security. Fascinating stuff! And a dream job!

Funny i never really thought about my american friends seeing different things. we didn't see P&T here. Just a bit of the drummers coming and then Lil John outside for a bit. Too bad but then again we get this....never thought I'd see him in that jacket. 33782039_10156750154311111_9134556824752619520_n.jpg

That guy is a huge reason I love Hockey. Just love that guy. Don Cherry in a Vegas jacket.....it's like "Hey - if the Blackhawks can't win the Cup, at least I get to see that guy in Vegas wearing that jacket...."

It reminds me some of that National Car Rental ad with the guy in the leisure suit, when he walks through the aisle and the woman gives him that "WTF" look......I have a similar fetish doing that to people (see avatar).

    Go Don!

Holtby made a huge save late. Ugh. 99% of the time, the game is tied there.

Fleury will have to be better, or else.
