Well done, Caps, you really earned it.
I've never been a fan of Ovechkin, but he isn't one of the players I dislike either. In spite of me cheering for Vegas, I was kinda hoping that Ovie would win. He is one to wear his emotions on his sleeve and I was looking forward to seeing his reactions. He did not disappoint.
The same thing happened to me as it does every year. As soon as one team is one win away I'm ready for it to be done. Then as the players are parading the Cup around the ice I realize that I miss hockey already. It takes me only minutes to miss watching hockey. Only 118 days to go until the start of the 2018/19 NHL regular season!
The Cup was in my next door neighbor's yard one summer, but I missed it! He used to coach Chris Osgood (goalie for Detroit in the 90's) in minor league hockey in Medicine Hat, AB and they always kept in touch.....when Ozzie came back to the Hat with the Cup he brought it over to Len's house, but I was out of town on holidays..............
Congrats to the Caps!
I guess it has practically become a tradition, but for the life of me I can't understand why a Las Vegas crowd would boo the NHL commissioner.
Congrats to both teams.
You be the judge.
It was interesting to us that Wynn handed out this Golden Knight logo pin to all their employees at the start of the Cup and most all wore them. It's a cool logo! Las Vegas seems to be a great sports town with enthusiastic fans and avid Golden Knights supporters. In Dallas the Stars are popular, but seem to fall behind the Cowboys, Rangers and Mavericks in public interest.
Congrats to all the nominated Golden Knights on their NHL awards! Definitely a year that won't be forgotten! #GoKnights
October 4 vs. Flyers, Opening Night.
Remaining league schedule announced today at 5PM eastern....
I was in Vegas for the last two games of the series with game 5 being a home game... it was fun just being there as I was staying almost next door at the Luxor. I was walking right outside NYNY where they had plenty of TVs set up and makeshift bars too... cool experience!
