Lolz at the bar is where it usually takes them the longest...on the floor the ladies come pretty quick...
On 5c, I don't even bother, because they're only $1, but when I'm playing 25c, then I'm playing JoB, and it ups the return to 99.9%...so, yes, I'll wait. (If they offered any decent 5c games, then a 20 coin bonus would be HUGE, percentage wise...but their 5c games are all in the 97-98% range)

Fremont had DSTP in some new All Star Poker 2? in Sept. They are right near the pit near the VP bar. You gotta flip through the options, but it's there. Paytables are not great though.

Yeah STP/DSTP are staples of All Star II units as well. A lot more downtown properties do have these All Star II units. But as you point out, since they are newer, the paytables tend to suck.

Okay, so Day 5, the light finally went on as I mentioned, Boyd mailed offers are based on play at your home property, while overall comps include play at all 3 downtown Boyd properties. I think this could explain why my offers have been floating around, sometimes a bit better, sometimes a bit worse, and why, in general, we are undercomped at the Cal compared to the Four Queens.

This was Day 1 of 6 doing $10K coin in each at the Four Queens. I did okay, my $200 freeplay lasted me the whole time and I had $100 left over. The Quad Queen... had a different experience.

We also checked out of the Cal and into the Nugget and the Four Queens.

Can't remember if I wrote this here or not yet but the mythical legendary coveted Gold Card DOES exist at the Cal as well as Main Street. I saw one!!!!

    Here's Day 5 part 2
    http://www.royalflushervegas.com/2014/11/the-three-casino-shuffle.html

    And Day 5 part 3
    http://www.royalflushervegas.com/2014/11/eat-twenty-dollars-worth-of-glossette.html

I finally figured out why they call it the Rush tower. It has nothing to do with being in a hurry. It's rush as in 'gold rush'. Duhhhh.

The Gold Club rooms are at the top and they put out these snacks for you - bowls of chocolate raisins and water and nuts and such. Also, untouched fruit.

We did a bit of gambling at the Nugget and the Quad Queen hit that Deuces progressive for $192 or so which was kind of cool. I got another Boner Deluxe dollar quad.

Once all that screwing around was done, it was time to get the rental car and head down to Delano. That'll be in tomorrow's posts.

Perhaps I didn't see it RF...but what was your loss on the $20k of $ 9/6 JoB @ 4Q? I see you had the $200 FSP, but what did QQ have?
This is usually what wife and I do at CET, $25k per day (split between the both of us), and I'm just curious if you fared any better than our usual $1000 loss limit.

Thanks for asking, actually, I'd meant to track that.

On session 1, I used $200 in free play and cashed out $100. Not too shabby. I call that a $100 loss.

The Quad Queen used $300 in free play and another $500 in cash. Ouch!

ok, so like us, you had $1000, and it cost you $900 (technically).
Like I said before, if you're going to play that much..CET would take much better care of you (and it doesn't look like you mind playing 98-99% games)

Delano was pretty cool. The suite was all decked out in white, but the pillows suck - they are HUGE. I woke up with a headache (which could be for various reasons but whatever).

I ended up having a really fun but losing day and Mrs. F. hit our fourth royal of the trip. I ate at Hussong's again and got to enjoy the Mariachi band again - they even did some special stuff just for me.

Flusher, after long and delirious contemplation I have decided that you are 'THE' authority on video poker. Can you recommend a trainer for me? I'm pretty good but carni games like deuces wild(which i love) throw me completely out of my comfort. Staying at Palazzo middle of December and I want to hit the dollar sequential poker wall. Help please to an east coast Canadian....

Long and delirious... LOL. I use WinPoker, which is available for computers, as well as iPhone/iPad. It's good enough for me. There are other ones out there too. I have the Wizard of Odds one which is okay and does some things that WinPoker doesn't do. Really, honing your basic strategy on any trainer is going to get you miles ahead of where you'd be with dead reckoning and guesswork.

One great thing about your post is I can now plaster that all over my business cards... "'THE' authority on video poker...".

No, I am not an authority, there are many, many more out there that know more than I do. Study up, you could become one of them!

There's a nugget there- there's a lot a you can do with "The authority!" Wrestling, superhero and music references aside, much too easy targets for an authority like you. At those moments you want to be less conspicuous than the famous Royal Flusher you can pull out "The authority!" card instead.

I really enjoy your trip reports. One thing that surprises me, I would think, at the level your playing, you would get way better VIP treatment. Tell those downtown to step it up!!!!! Love the trip reports. Keep on Keeping on!!!!!

With that WAX story, at times I wonder if QQ is more into VP than you are! :evillaugh But watch that 9/5 Triple Double Boner there! :Þ Barely 97%...the Strip isn't that bad if you stay "savvy". :wink2:

I notice you don't list free drinks on the comps list at the end of your reports yet you seem to enjoy the occasional drink and occasional drunk on your Vegas trips. If you counted them would that make you a more savvy gambler or do you consider drinking an un-savvy play?

Excellent question. I've actually floated the idea that we shouldn't drink while playing, lest it cloud our judgement. And playing the heavy dollar sessions, I didn't drink. Mistakes are too costly to me at that level. I wonder how many quads I've missed from missed pairs?

We tip a buck a drink each so it can actually be kind of expensive and I don't count them as comps.
