Wouldn't $10,000 VP coin in at CET earn EXACTLY $10? I know MLIFe has tier multipliers, wasn't aware of the same for CET.

Total Rewards has "Bonus Rewards Credits" of which the amount earned depends on the game and how long you play

Mlife offers have been inconsistent since the beginning, and they're still inconsistent.

I don't even get ANY offers any more via any method, haven't gotten a single one since last spring, dunno why, all they tell me is not everyone gets offers. But whenever I've contacted a host or VIP Services, I've always gotten what I consider a fair upfront offer. So that's what I recommend people do.

The new system only started on Oct 1. We all know for sure what the effect is on Express Comps, and the accounts of many more machines being specialty machines is troubling if true. But I think we're kind of in a limbo zone as far as offers in this 4th Q. I think it'll take at least a quarter to get things sorted and for offers to start reflecting any increase in primary comps.

In the meantime, I think it'd be wise not to crush your ADT at MGM properties. Stay elsewhere until you think your offers are fair, but don't make the mistake of low-playing them to try to teach them a lesson.

I've got a headache just reading through these posts.

Upfront comps, express comps, bonus reward credits, tier multiplyers, mlife, cet, adt.

    Anyway, considering all the above.

We will be staying at Mirage for a week and hopefully be going to vegas once a year. Wife plays penny to quarter slots and I play poker and quarter slots.

We have a Ceasars property in Windsor and go there maybe once every two months for a weekend but no MGM properties in close proximity.

If you are hoping to get some free room offers and/or food credits would you do most of your playing at the Mirage or across the road at Harrahs?

    Thanks for your feedback.

Well if you are close to Caesars Windsor (CET) then you are close to MGM Detroit (MLife), just need a passport to get across the border. MGM Detroit has become my home base even though I'm mainly a CET player in Vegas because as a college student I've been slow to get a passport since they toughened restrictions on crossing the border.

I'm a very very very low roller. My budget for 3 days in Vegas is $300-$400 for slots gambling. I used to spent most of it at CET properties and didn't get anything. No discount for buffet, nada, zero which is understandable because I'm a low roller.

On our recent trip we stayed at Excalibur and gambled mostly at MLife properties. Aria, Monte Carlo, and Mandalay Bay took my $$$ and on our last day, we went to MLife desk and ask if we could get any discount for Mandalay Bay buffet. The customer service printed out a voucher for me, for $11 off the buffet price. It's not much but it's a discount and I feel appreciated. Can't get that from CET properties.

Now on our upcoming trip, we are staying at Flamingo so we'll see if I will gamble there more or make the walk to Mirage.

This is absolutely true. Free rooms for almost any TR card holder in Vegas. But not only free rooms, but low table limits at Ballys, Harrahs, IP, Bills are a huge factor in where I play not to mention pretty decent drink service. I wish the comp dollars were better, but when in Vegas does it really matter when you can use a coupon and go eat a huge at Ellis Island around the corner for $5? Rooms, drink service and good gaming certainly out weigh the extra couple of dollars I'd get from running $10K thru machines at Mlife.

My last trip saw my expenditures decrease (I was on a comped room at Flamingo) and I am not not showing any free rooms at any CET hotels.

I like the Flamingo pool, but I might consider MLIFE for my next time - I've never been a member of MLife but wonder if I use them once if I might get a teaser offer for a second time?

For my wife and I, the drastic difference between resort quality and amenities is what keeps us at M-life properties. We would rather accept an offer for one free night and signficantly reduced rates (i.e. $39 a night plus resort fee) for the remaining nights at the Aria or Mandalay Bay versus a completly comped stay at Paris or Planet Hollywood. We only go to Vegas 2-3 times per year, so enjoying a better room, pool, restaurants, gym, spa, etc. is more important than saving a total of $200 to get free rooms at a CET property.

This may seem silly to some, but it works for us. CET properties just seem run-down and unimpressive. With the exception of Caesars, we would prefer Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay, MGM and Mirage over any other CET property (and it isn't even close).

In the same boat. Mlife comps me at Aria, Bellagio, wherever. The same play got me the most basic rooms at Caesars if I was lucky.
100 % agree :) - Mlife hotels are just nicer (in the basic rooms catagory, not the suites - I'm too low a roller for those).

See I'm a 25 year old guy and I spend a couple hours a day in my room tops. There is too much to do and see in Vegas for me to waste $50+ a night after resort fees on a low level MLife property that they offer me. Would rather take my comped nights at Planet Hollywood or Caesars and deal with what I consider a sufficient room for the 2-4 hours I'm in there a day. I agree the upper level MLife hotels (Aria, MGM, etc) are nicer than CETs tops (Planet Hollywood and Caesars) but I don't even sniff offers for those MLife properties, at least not under $80 plus resort fees so thats like $400 for 4 nights or free at CET, I'd rather take that $400 to the tables or the club.

I have never run into an issue with my host at CET writing down my bill with discretionary comps based on my play. Even on a low playing trip last year, he still took care of me.
Most of the time its around $300 to $400 in either Spa, PPV, or meal charges to my room above the offer. This is typically for around 20 to 25K coin in over 4 days which translates to around 5000 TR points.

Where as the same level of play at MGM props (Bellagio, Mirage, and MGM Grand) has resulted in not much more than my base offers. Thats why I abandoned them. Id much rather kick up play to the smaller joints or independents. My only grip with CET is that the quality of offers have gone down such, that besides the anytime comp rooms, my diamond / TR insider status is not worth much.

I'm right with you as far as CET. I don't bring enough cash (about $3000 for 4 days) to really get much more than the rooms that they take care of but that is fine for me. I have to eat regardless of where I am so I don't really care about paying for food as long as they take care of my room which they always do. MLife has great properties but for whatever reason they haven't been able to give me an offer I couldn't refuse so until they give me 4 nights comped when I want it and try to win me over I will be a CET guy, with only occasional MLife stops to see buddies at those properties.

Totally agree with this statement... For our next trip we already have comped offers from CET properties, even though we have given very little play. We will however stay at an M-life prop - the feel of the room, the casino - is just nicer and for that we will pay the reduced rates that we are offered... because = for us it's worth it.
We tried to stay out of M-life and give all our play to CET... but I was just drawn into the m-life properties.. to each his own. :peace:

Good positive discussion guys. Despite all my hate, yeah I would rather pay 79/night for Aria than free Paris. But on a weekend id take free P.Ho over $159 Aria.

Also I would take free Octavious, Augustus, or Palace towers at Caesars over comped Bellagio, just because of the bigger room.

Even within myself I have trouble deciding. There are a lot of variables and its complicated, but my biggest disappointed is feeling i am spending top dollar and they are both getting real chincy.

Play mostly where you are sleeping. You can pop in a CET casino and give it a spin but go ahead and play at Mirage. The thing about CET is that you can build a relationship at your local casino that translates into free rooms in Vegas. If you check online, you may already have free or discounted rooms at a CET Vegas hotel. If they aren't already sending you offers, you may just need to update your profile to indicate you want them from other markets.

I guess this is where a host relationship plays into the loyalty factor. I have yet to field a request for a room to my LV Host and not gotten a room. This is across the country where CET exists, any market. Yeah some of the CET props are shabby, but at least with the level of coin I am playing I can get the cream of the cr@p. This past year alone in LV have gotten the following rooms.

    PHo Strip Suite
    Ballys North Tower Grand
    Caesars Octavius and Augustus
    Flamingo Go Luxury
Would I pay rack rate for base CET rooms probally not.

Throw in the booze in the diamond lounges and tournament offers, its enough to keep me loyal to point to achieve diamond. MGM has never been this good to me. Even with some focused play at mid tier joints like MC and Mirage.

So bottom line, I don't care how great the rooms MGM has, the personal attention I get from CET and the quality of experience in LV keep my loyalty. This goes from the time I checkin, Valet, bell desk, lounge, cashier cages, TR desk, diamond checkin, etc.

If the stingyness starts creeping in at CET to a noticiable level just to improve a quarterly earnings period, I have no problem switching loyalty to a local joint off strip or downtown. I just have yet to find a place I like enough.

we stay with mlife so far because the room comps are great for us at Aria,
few min wins and great stays.
We still earned over $130 in express comps as well.
