I understand no shows are running, but what else is happening on the strip and Fremont? Bands, pools with a DJ? Anything else to do when I’m filling time between eating and gambling haha?

Some of the former dayclubs may have a local DJ. More subdued environment.
Carnaval Court by Harrahs has bands on the weekends.
Sounds like all the Strip piano bars are open. (Harrahs, Paris & NYNY)
Big Elvis is playing at Harrahs.
I hit the pools which i rarely do.
Always fun to sit outside & people watch--preferably after sundown.
Rented a car & drove all over--South Point, Orleans, Red Rock, Green Valley casinos.
Lots of exhibits are open--MARVEL at TI, wax museum at Venetian, Mob Museum & Neon Museum DT, Atomic Museum on Flamingo & others.
Lots of natural beauty near Vegas--Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Mount Charleston, Lake Las Vegas, Hoover Dam (exhibits closed)(all w/in 30 min.) Further out: Lake Mead, Grand Canyon, Death Valley

For those who don't normally venture off the strip or downtown, this is a good time to rent a car and see the other side of Vegas considering the limited entertainment choices outside of gambling. KKB listed a lot of good choices in regards to checking out what Mother Nature has to offer just a short drive from the strip. I always add on side-trips when I visit Vegas, so I've been to many of those places already and they are all well worth visiting.

Some of the best of Vegas and environs has nothing to do with gambling.

This is much of the draw to move (retire) to Vegas in the next couple year. Love the climate, love to hike.
Yes, I like to gamble, like the entertainment & dining options, but this trip venturing off Strip, that 215 drive up to Sun City was gorgeous; then you turn east & can see the whole valley & the east mountains. Spectacular!

My favorite band, Guys Banging Buckets Outside, are playing currently--downtown in front of Four Queens. If you can take the headaches even a few minutes of listening will give you, they are great.

Just curious KKBI. How would you rank the 30 miles and less sites? I always rent a car and this October, plan on getting outside VEGAS at least once.

LOL you are assuming that I pulled myself away from gambling/drinking:drunk: long enough to go. Pathetic with over 100 trips under our belts...

In June I had EVERY intention...was trying to be socially distant...did spend several days touring the city for neighborhoods to move to, other casinos :poker:...
I had a hard time convincing DH & DS to go...and was really winning our last weekend....
But HEY, I DID see LOTS of Vegas I had never seen before! The drive on 215 toward & past Red Rock Casino is gorgeous...then you turn into Sun City & you can see the valley & easy mountains. Awesome!

NEXT spring or summer...well, DEFINITELY when we move there in a few years!!

Going back to a week before the casinos reopened, the Piazza Lounge at Tuscany has had live music (just about) every night. Tuscany was the first casino resort in the Strip corridor to reopen -- sans casino, and with some of the dining open for sit-down service -- and they did so for Memorial Day weekend. They quickly found a way to socially-distance the lounge to allow for performers and the audience to coexist. (It involved plexiglass being put up around the stage and the elimination of the dance floor for now.) They also managed to do so for some shows in the showroom, too -- though nothing appears to be on the showroom calendar at the moment. I see no indication that the Piazza Lounge has been closed again, or that live performance has been suspended. That space would not be required to close because despite primarily being a bar, they do serve food -- a limited number of selections from Tuscany Gardens just across the lobby.
