Always been loyal to CP or Ballys/HS… never even took Flamingo into account. Have an offer for comp suites… Either- Flamingo Premium Room 1 King 550 sqft Or GO Premium 1 King 550 sqft pros and cons? Flamingo Premium King says no view… hmm
Following. We had the same options for the Flamingo for our trip in August. We chose the Flamingo Premium King because it said it was recently refurbished.
yeah the Premium King is showing up for me in July. I'd also like to hear from anyone who has stayed in that room type. I"m thinking about staying my first night on the Strip before heading downtown for my July 4 trip. I wouldn't be in the room much and I haven't stayed at the Flamingo in forever but a comp suite is hard to pass up. I'm also seeing a comp for a room in the Julius tower at Caesars and I've never stayed there. I know it's their basic room but I could check that off the list of places I've stayed.
We've stayed in both, but not for a few years. Neither of these rooms are true suites. Neither has a separate bedroom. The Flamingo-branded room is more recently renovated, but "recently renovated" means probably 5 years ago. It was nice and comfortable and modern, but also a bit blah design-wise. The GO-branded room (I'm guessing it's the Go-Mini Suite based on square footage) can be a surprising gem. IF you get the right GO-Mini Suite. GO-Mini Suites are NOT created equal! The first one we had featured an alcove with the bed, a ceiling fan over the bed (which was great), a second tv for the bed a walk-in closet, and the usual Go bathroom with two sink areas, a basic tub and the shower with the wall jets. The layout was great and made the room feel larger than it was. It was a very pleasant surprise. The other GO-Mini Suite did not have ANY of the features I mentioned above, including not having the traditional GO bathroom. It had some weird-shaped HUGE bathroom with a weird layout, no tub, just on sink, a large walled off space where the toilet was, and it was painted a pale yellow. I was solo, so I just let it be.
I'm confused about the title of the question - those are not suites? Maybe I misread - but did you think the King room was a Suite? As far as I know - it is not. They have several Suites - the Go Room Junior Suite, The Neapolitan, The Cosmopolitan, The Metropolitan, The Executive, The Fab Executive, the full Go Suite. I used to stay there a bunch and the Premium King Rooms are not Suites unless they have changed something. My favorite is the Cosmopolitan Suite - it is very nice.
I would go with just about any room at the Palace before either of those rooms - especially since they're both about the size of or smaller than a regular Augustus tower room. I'd probably say the same for any room at BallyShoe as well. Sadly CET calls it a suite on the website. It has that Caesars Suites logo.
I would suggest sticking with CP or Horseshoe . I greatly prefer either to Flamingo. The only pro to Flamingo is that the casino (especially craps) can be fun near the open doors to the Strip. And the HL room staff was very friendly the last time I played there (admittedly, a couple years ago). But there are so many cons! The worst, IMO, is that the Flamingo hallways smell bad and are dirty. Never stayed on a floor there that didn't have that issue
My only experiences at flamingo are not the ones you fondly remember... Offered a suite, they put us on the pet floor, went down and asked at desk if they thought my wife was a dog. Moved us to different floor suite with no view and its not a true suite, its a room with an alcove that has a bed in it and a tv, no door for separation and no 2nd bathroom. Tried another offer about a year or more later and host put on my request room with a view, refrigerator, 1 king. They filled none of the requests and apologized but explained I got in too late for a better room!!
Between the Go and the Flamingo premium, neither is a 'real' suite, but the Flamingo premium is almost objectively the better of the two. 9 out of 10 dentists recommend the Flamingo Premium, but I must qualify that with, I strongly agree with @Mr Bulldops re: any premium tower room at CP is nicer than either of these not-actually-suites at Flamingo. But some may prefer the pool and budget friendlier options for pretty much everything at Flamingo.
Thanks for the info.. I was surprised to see those rooms listed as a suite. It's just one night and I like the idea of staying at Caesars for one night before heading downtown.
I liked the Flamingo Premium room alot because of the floor to ceiling windows all the way across the room. Although they say no view, I usually got a decent view of the High Roller/Sphere or the habitat/pool area when I stayed in them a few times a couple years ago. I did always ask really nicely for a high floor/decent view and always got one. I liked staying in that room as much as I do the Horseshoe, but Caesars Palace is a much nicer property and I would much prefer an Octavius or Augustus room to the Flamingo Premium room.
Out of curiosity, do any of the Flamingo Premium rooms face the Cromwell? Should I be worried about noise from Drai's? I assume habitat view rooms or rooms that face Linq wouldn't have this issue?
