37:26 ---regular room rate 180 "notice with air quotes"<---I don't even think she realized that she did this.

Yup, Understand that "$180" is probably the highest the "comp room rate gets" normal days are much lower. Look at the calendar in March or April without putting in a coupon code. The pay out of pocket rate for over half the month is much lower than "$180".

Wow, great catch, I missed that! Bellagio rates, though, are pretty regularly over $300.

Midweek rates at Bellagio at non-busy times are around $195 to $220. The casino's rate for those rooms is probably about half of that, which will just about cover the $100 in comps earned from $300 in theo. She's describing the threshold one needs to cross to start earning any offers at all. At that level of play the offers might not be fully comped rooms on weekends, but still, it'll be an offer.

Another thing to consider is that MGM seems to have slightly more generous offers for first-time players and for low rollers.

This is all very informational. Does anyone know if MGM has a base offer? I usually stay at Vdara and gamble at Park MGM. A lot of my gaming is bubble craps (HA 1.4%) and low denom slots ($1 spin). My actual loss is usually a couple hundred buck which is not significant given the hours of entertainment. Just looked at my history and my total coin-in for a YEAR is about 25k so that's about $350 theo if I'm correct. I receive offers for base comp rooms at MGM properties and $50 FP / $50 RC. Given my level of play it doesn't see to line up with what I'm reading. I do spend a number of hours at the machines each day (more than 4).

Your offers may be a little generous compared to theo.

I don't think MGM has a base offer per se. I think people could probably get offers with no FP or RC and what amounts to a casino rate discount on the room while having to pay resort fee. CET is similar, I think you could play low enough to where you're getting no FP or RC and no full comp nights but like $10/night rates at some properties.

I think the reason for this is that regardless of the casino rate, unless the hotel is expecting to be full the actual cost to them to comp you a basic room is very low - low enough that base-room comps are much easier to get, theo aside, than basically anything else save drinks.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Kinda figured it was a casino rate discount. I typically book months in advance and figure that's part of it, too. If I don't, the offers have changed.

I get weeknight comps rooms at all MGM hotels except for Aria and Bellagio, and 15 dollars freeplay and 50 dollars resort credits. So it def. can go lower!

Per the live stream yesterday on the Gamble Smart channel on YouTube, word is that the host in this video is no longer a host and MGM is not happy that the video is still up.

Still listed on the NYNY website though...

Not saying you're wrong (or rather, the G.S. channel is wrong) but surely this video got approved by corporate communications before it got published?

Marc here from Gamble Smart - I have a source (within MGM Marketing) that has told me several emails have been sent around about this video being posted without approval from corporate as a caution not to engage in any unuathorized interviews.

Could he be making this up? Sure, but I've trusted this person for quite some time. He's also the individual that I applied to MGM Public Relations to do a 1 on 1 interview like this back in November of 2022. His boss pulled the plug several hours before we were set to record. At the time, it was the D-Lucky situation that put the guard up.. not sure if that still persists.

I really don't have a beef with the video - it's mostly accurate the information she was providing. Even if MGM has a problem with it being posted, this will be a good reference video for others in the community to keep getting more transparency with casinos and its operations. (a good thing)

I spoke with Marc from Gamble Smart he said "It's not confirmed that she is no longer a host, but it is confirmed that MGM was not happy about the interview being done without consent from PR. Either way, it's good this video is out there because it will push more transparency which the public desperately needs in this industry."

My offers from MGM have gone up and down like a yo-yo this past couple years. I am baffled by it all, but admit I do not play that much in MGM casinos. My wife and I also heavily use myvegas comps, and I have no idea how they affect my offers based on play. 6 months ago my offers for NYNY were "up to 3 nights comp, $50 F&B, $15 freeplay". After using that offer it dropped off a cliff to 1 comp night, and now it is at 2 nights comp and $10 freeplay. I am not entirely sure why the offers dropped so much across the board, that trip I played more than other trips (longer ToD and a larger bankroll)...but I also won quite a bit compared to previous trips.. I am equally not sure why the offers crept back up a bit though, because I haven't done much since except maybe $50 of play at Borgata before a meal there. I suspect the myvegas comps really mess with my comp offers at MGM, but I have no idea how... we really do use them to their fullest extent though heheh..

None necessary. I’m just glad she’s still there.
