The Plaza has been a ghost town for the past year. We used to play at the bar and people watch but there's not much to see anymore. I can't imagine them even being around a year from now. With the Golden Gate bringing traffic to that end of Fremont, you think they'd be milking it for all it's worth.

How was Oscar's? Food any good? I've always wanted to try it. They have a great view overlooking Fremont.

Food was good. Had the prime rib. Wine list was limited but the young lady who was recommending the wine { not a sommlier } was lovely and great to talk to.

Im 33 and was the youngest one in the place by 20 years easy.

All steak houses are overpriced. You just pretty much pay $50 for your protein and hope to have your socks knocked off. Sides were average.

Oscar's food and atmosphere, I thought, were both quite good. This was about a year ago, but I continue to hear good things about it. Get the Spilotro Steak with garlic mashed potatoes. Yeah! :peace:

While i was there they only ran it during the day ($15). No tables open in the evening at the weekend.

I was there last week and it was $10 before 6:00 p.m., then up to $15 once the Pit Girls started working.

It was open on a Sunday and Tuesday night when I was there.

Were they using that auto-read machine to set hands?

It was used quite infrequently, however, it depended a lot on the dealer. There were two that were inexperienced, and used it to check to ensure they set the dealer's hand correctly. One, in particular, used it to help make commission (one of the $85 bets, for instance) - I didn't mind - more time for other 'viewing'.

Alexanbo - if you spend any time there, ask the spiked hair African American dealer (sorry, forgot her name), if she remembers 'Sherwin'. She gave me that name and may have some interesting stories to tell about our Pai Gow adventures!!

IMHO, the EC vintage rooms are a little larger than the standard rooms at the GG. I also think that the bathrooms at the EC vintage rooms are a little larger than the GG bathrooms. I don't mind the vintage rooms, easy to get in and out of and close to the casino. the only drawback to the EC is that the hotel isn't close to the other downtown casinos, it is hard when you are ready to turn in and you are at MSS and have to walk all the way back to the EC at 4 in the morning.

In terms of casino vibe, I like the GG because of all the hot girls working. The EC has some cute asian girls working but in overall hotness I vote for the GG.
