My local Ameristar is now part of Penn Gaming, and I have 3 free nights.
Thinking about taking them upon the offer for my Nov BDAY trip.

    I have never been there.
Yes, I know where it is, and yes, I will have a car!

What can you tell me about rooms, dining, etc... yours views vs what their website says.

We've stayed their several times and enjoyed every trip. Rooms are nice and the mattresses are really comfortable. Inquired about purchasing the same make and model but was a little to rich for me. The restaurants and buffet were good for us and the bakery and coffee shop is open 24hrs. My only bitch was on the Pai Gow table, having a good run and the pit shuts the table down. The service from check in to check out was excellent.

I love the M Resort. I live in North Las Vegas, so it is not my local casino but worth the long drive down. The rooms are very comfy and nice. The entire casino is "luxe" in my opinion. They have any slot that you want to play and any table game you want and they are not stacked up against each other. I won't use the word "loose" but I seem to be able to play here a bit longer than further north on the Strip. They are generous with comps. There is ROOM everywhere. The restaurants are excellent -- the steak house (but you will need a rez and it is quite pricey), the Asian restaurant and the Burgers and Brews are all excellent. The buffet is always rated one of the best in Vegas. There is a wine bar with little bites down below the casino that should not be missed (limited hours though). I have Aliante up north here in Vegas as my local casino and it pales in comparison.

What's the gambling like now. I remember reading something about downgrading VP. Anyone like to share their thoughts and perspective on the gaming?

I've only been there once, but I loved it. Elegant, lots of space. It's where I imagine the very well off go when the want to gamble but also want to be left alone somewhat. I was with a group and we played table games for several hours. One of us, who is known to always ask for comps, actually got us each a $20 food comp! They had a great selection of slots, cocktail waitresses were friendly and not put out by dumb questions from me like "what kind of martinis can i get" very good vibe overall. We used our food comp for the buffet, which was pricey but huge, and you got to help yourself to their beer, and possibly wine too. I would stay there in a heartbeat.

It's one of the best off strip resorts in Vegas. I would rate is along side the Red Rock/Green Valley resorts. The buffet is an outstanding value, and very good. I give it a sold A. Win big if you go.

I can't vouch for the rooms, but I've eaten many times at the buffet, which included wine, beer, draft root beer and espresso drinks. Not sure if this is still the case.

I’ve always wanted to check it out, so next week I’m renting a car for a day and going there for slots and the lunch buffet, along with Green Valley Ranch and maybe Palace Station or another off-strip casino.

How are the comps? I’m not a member of their players club, but would definitely try staying there if the casino experience is better than the strip.

Food -- no clue about the buffet -- VP, bars, beer, the look, indoor TopGolf, the bakery, pool, rooms, spa ... all great.

If you don't mind being in the hinterlands ... all great.

Ok, do the rooms have COFFEE MAKERS of any sort?

The website just says " In-room refreshment center" .

Yes, for the craft beer! Tasty.

stayed there a few years ago, no coffee makers then, so I would presume same now-

Baby Cakes is very close to elevators-but we didn't like their coffee and it was $$-after 1st day I just drove right next door to gas station

Maybe do what so many others do and pick up a cheapy coffee maker at CVS or Walmart. If you have the room in your luggage - take it home and use it on your next visit to M. I'm sure you'll love it and be back. If not, well, how long would it take you to spend $15 on VP?

I do have a small travel coffee maker.
    I pack it every trip.

The Keurig mini plus is actually cheaper at Target, when on sale, however, the reviews are not good.

I just got a mailer from them as well after playing at a local Hollywood a couple of months ago.

Did you get the choice of Trop or M Resort along with free play and dining credit? I noticed that it says "Resort Fee May Apply" and there are reports of them making people using comps pay the fee. Also, noticed "All Gaming and Dining Offers will be spread over total hotel nights offered".

Man, happy to get a "free" room and food at M and pay for the resort fee. Any time. But I'm a goldfish.

Yes, you will be charged Resort Fee unless you are in the top 2 tiers. I am one level under, Preferred.
Gaming/Dining will be split into whatever days you choose.

So, I have $300 dining. I plan to spend 2 nights, and spend a lot at dinner and many drinks!
