You sure about that? There are (52 × 51 × 50 × 49) / (4 × 3 × 2 × 1) = 270,725 possible combinations for the four cards face up. 13 of those combinations will be four of a kind. That gives a probability of 1 in 270,725/13 = 1 in 20,825.
When playing the 99.9% EV version of this game (which is now hard to find), I can accept (and have experienced) that part of the game will be, once in a blue moon, getting this hand. It never bothered me. Still, give me this game, over any 98% game, any day. I played the full pay version of this for years, years ago, with 1.1% comp rate, yes over 1% I say ouch to this 500 for the quad, and only 20 for the trips, version of this game, esp the latter! 95.6%!?? Many years ago, I remember someone posting that they were playing this game in a high limit area, and the staffer saw this hand and started to prepare for the handpay four of a kind, thinking it was dealt and would be held. Those that never played this game might not know that the 4-of-a-kind pays 600 on a 5 coin bet. So, have you other posters ever hit a royal flush in this game, which is around 8x as rare as Jacks or Better (1 in 315,818 hands)? I have one to my credit.
Me too. I had 3 straight flushes there over the years when the payout was 1199 quarters, and probably at least 10 quads. I always played the uprights near the bar. Great drink service. Also, my original pic was at Stage Door. Lousy paytables, but you can't beat the $1 beers.
