When it first opened as Park, the biggest complaint aside from construction noise I was seeing was comments about paper thin walls and hearing neighbors plain as day who were talking at a normal volume.

Is this still a problem or have they figured out how to control the sound a bit now?

Do they still only use automated check-in kiosks?

What's the verdict on staying there now?

My best Mlife offer is currently from them, and considering giving a shot.

I truly like staying there it’s nice and renovated good restaurants. Placed well on the strip with access to lots of places. Rooms seem to have gotten smaller I know that sounds weird also the ac is terrible not cold enough in the room for me. The new pool is terrible I hate it it’s small and not good. It’s a decent hotel just try it out.

I was there in November of last year and my girlfriend and I didn't hear anything outside of our room. Maybe everyone was just quiet.
I'm typically more worried about those I can hear in the hallway. I've heard people outside of Sky Suites, Vdara, MGM, Mirage, etc. If people are loud enough, you'll hear them from any room.

Yes, they have the check-in kiosks. Yes, I hate them. Something about having all my information on a huge screen next to and around a bunch of people without privacy screens or dividers makes me uncomfortable.

Food, amazing. I ate at Primrose for lunch and thought it was great. Awesome decor along with the service.

I'd say give them a shot.

Oh, and craps tables there are about 500 ft long. Not fun.

I’m staying there this weekend. Low expectations but hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

As for the thin walls, I never noticed a problem when it was Monte Carlo. Can’t imagine they somehow got thinner during the renovation. But I ALWAYS bring ear plugs to sleep with in Vegas no matter where I’m staying. Too many drunk idiots running down the hall at all hours of the night.

I did not stay there last weekend but walked over several times from Aria .

Lunch at Nomad Bar was great.
Interesting menu with very good service .
    Will return.

Dinner at Bavettes steakhouse was also very good.
We were seated in a smaller side room near the bar.
    Steaks,sides,and cocktails were fantastic.
My only complaint is it was way too dark.
I know they are going for that look but it was ridiculous.
The main room seemed somewhat brighter so if you go request the main room near the bar.

I've had two friends who've stayed there. Friend A is a roll with the punches, easy going, no frills kinda guy. He loved it.

Friend B is very picky and tends to gravitate towards higher end properties. She hated it.

    That's all I got.

My mindset is closer to Friend A, so I'm keeping my reservation for March.

Stayed at the Monte Carlo in 2014. Went back during construction last April for Kings/Knights Game 2, went back in October (2 nights comped through mlife), and walked through this past weekend (we went to On The Record while staying at Aria).

I don't recall ever thinking the walls were too thin or that it was noisy. Yes, check in is done via kiosk.

Overall, I like it and my girlfriend likes it. I prefer the new pools. When I'm at the pool, I wanna relax. I dont wanna hear thumping music or kids screaming. Wave pools and lazy river pools attract that kind of noise. I like doing the kiosk check in instead of standing in line (I had the option of both at Aria and chose the kiosk for speed). I like the location, Aria is connected by corridor and Cosmo and Bellagio are an easy tram ride away. Walking to NYNY through The Park is pleasant. Breakfast at Primrose was great. That's the only restaurant there I can speak to.

I don't like the single hot tub. In October the water temp in the hot tub was too low to make it enjoyable. I wouldnt stay there during the cold months again for that reason. The sliding bathroom/closet door in the basic rooms is stupid, look at it on youtube. The Stay Well rooms are way better cause they dont have the sliding door and they have cool mood lighting and other features like an air purifier thing, but your offer is probably for a basic room.

There is construction going on right in front of Eataly where they're building a new pedestrian bridge across the boulevard, so maybe try to not get a room on that side.

I say it's worth the resort fee.

How’s the casino now at Park MGM?

I was last there in August 2018. The space was large but there were lots of empty areas. Has the casino filled out more with more slot machines?

Curious about this myself. Will be going in a month, so I will at least check it out. But man, back in August, it was hard to find a soul!

Walked through last week - the place is finally back to a fully working resort now. Eataly, even on a rainy, crappy weather day was quite busy and seems to have a good vibe. The rest of the resort, I think, is still recovering from all the renovations. Casino (mid-day on a Thursday) was very quiet, as was the center bar. Nothing much else was open. Sports book bar, Juniper, Best Friend, Bavette's all are nights only during the week it seems. I did wander into Nomad bar which had a few tables full but the bar was just me and my Amaretto Sours.

I think it's going to take some time for the traffic to re-build and the place to catch a buzz again, it was such a black hole for so long during the renos. I do like what they've done with the casino level though, it's an upgrade from MC but I just wish the rooms had gotten more love.

    That’s great to hear.

Will be there next week for a couple of nights. First time at Park MGM.

Looking forward to Primrose, Nomad Bar and Bavette’s.

Disclaimer: Bellagio is my usual hotel, with about 5 stays per year, so that’s what I’m most used to. I’ve been a few times recently just as a visitor (no room), with the most recent stop being a comp offer of mine I set up for friends. I didn’t stay a full night, but here are my observations now that the Monte Carlo makeover is complete.

The lobby kiosk check in is positively dreadful, but they do have a small VIP check in desk sort of hidden where I took my friends to check in. How on earth can people otherwise make room requests, haggle, schmooze/tip and whatnot?! (I’m 31 and I know I sound like my mother, but hey, I know what I like!)

Walls were thin in the room. Neighbors had a bunch of friends over for drinks and we could hear their noise and rap music. Couldn’t really complain though, because we did the same thing. We had way better music though (70s soul and disco baby!)

As far as decor and furnishings, it was a huge upgrade from the MC but it still had that sort of “lipstick on a pig” feel. Service was fine but they aren’t too used to dealing with special requests. (The valet and housekeeping in particular.) No real room service to speak of, aside from a few plain-jane offerings for breakfast and lunch which we didn’t even consider.

The casino is where fun goes to die. Small, not much action. Can’t blame this on the makeover, try just inherited the bones of the MC, but I like a casino with more players and action than this. Most tables were quiet. So were the patrons. Consistently good drink service. Dealers were not too friendly, despite tips. After a few without any kind of thanks or acknowledgement, nothing more came from me or anyone else at the table.

The best part of the Park MGM was the food. Nomad, Best Friend, Bavette’s and Eataly were all fantastic. Primrose was decent, no complaints but nothing worth seeking out. Haven’t tried La La Noodle yet, but they apparently play 80s pop and new wave music so that’s one good thing (for me!)

The club “On The Record” is also a fun spot, and not as similiar to all the other cookie-cutter clubs in Vegas.

Summary: trendy, foodie-friendly (except room service), a perfectly acceptable spot for most people. Just don’t expect fine service or a fun casino. Not recommended for even a moderately serious gambler or for those who expect higher-end amenities/service.

@Robertb1 That "secret" check-in. Is it the one that's directly to the right when you enter through the valet doors? I saw that and there was only one guy attending it.

Thanks. I was trying to make things a little lighthearted with that comment/wording. I guess it didn’t register. However, the meaning does remain: Vegas is a town where more people make requests, tip-to-upgrade, etc. than in other cities. The kiosk system prevents all of that.

But hotel front desks weren’t the only places where this system was the norm. Every Vegas show used to have ushered seating: better the tip, better the seat. Restaurant maitre d’s could make magic happen with the right tip. No such thing as a fully booked dining room, especially for a familiar face. The onset of the kiosk seems to be representative of a larger move away from this type of relationship-based system of service.

Hmm I might stay there mid April. Kiosk only to check In? Can I request to stay in a certain area? Not sure if there is a quieter area to sleep?

    Thanks.

Love the location and price lol though.

If you aren’t a casino invited guest, you can’t use the little desk staffed with actual people. Kiosks are your only option. There are several staff members walking around to help people having trouble with the process. I would try asking them if they could manually assign a room keeping your requests in mind. Might be able to work?
