I have seen reference to slot tournaments when reading trip reports and as we are mainly slots players thought they might be worth a go. Can anyone offer advice on how they work, how much they cost and how you find out about them

Slot tournaments are played on special machines in a roped off section of a casino. The general format is you are assigned certain times to play and you have a certain number of credits and a time limit to play them in. You do this for 2-3 rounds (with some tournaments dropping the lowest score) and prizes are awarded based on your score. Most of the time they are based on who has the highest, although there have been some that have been randomly awarded. MGM slot tournaments are invite only and are based on your play. Cost of these tournaments varies greatly. MGM slot tournaments range from $100 to $10,000, however many of the times i have seen it is comped if you are invited.
