If anyone in Central Texas is having problems booking a vaccine Hillcountrycovid is still vaccinating— I posted on it earlier. Our CEO said lots of vaccines left. In fact they are talking about returning vaccines and shutting down our shot clinic as the numbers of those getting the vaccines have dropped. Right now they let you choose your time but the only date I see is April 27th with multiple times available. I think that date will have to fill up before another date is opened. You don’t even need to be from Texas. Please get vaccinated. I don’t want to get political but honestly the vaccine is safe.

Austinites and San Antonians make an hour trip. See the wildflowers, stop at at a winery although the freeze was not kind to the bluebonnets.

Second Pfizer shot yesterday. A little sore but that is about it. Looking forward to when my 13 year old can get her shot.

Second Fauci Ouchi (Moderna) yesterday; I’m feeling this one a bit more for sure (mild body aches, slept quite a bit last night) but really not bad and still way better than any non-COVID-19 vaccine I’ve had since adulthood :)

That's a good point: I had to get my tetanus booster back in August, and my arm hurt more from that, and for longer, than with the first Moderna shot

That 2nd shot Monday really messed with my arthritis. Tried to tough it out, but had to take an advil around lunch time yesterday. I must have twisted it or something in addition, I get a sharp pain when I turn sometimes. I wish I could figure out what to avoid but there doesn't seem to be a pattern. It's only 50 hrs so I'm hoping this will continue to improve and I will be back to my normal aches.

I'm so happy I did this and it's over. I haven't had a vaccine since I was in grade school. Athough this wasn't a horrible experience, I don't think I'll be dashing out to get any more. A booster, maybe. Time will tell.

I'm a complete medical phobic person and if I can get through this, so can you.

Second Moderna was at 11 AM. It's 2:15 and having amplified symptoms from the first shot. Headache city, along with neck ache. It's a full-on hardcore night of drinking hangover type of headache. Working from home today but cleared my calendar and going to tap out.

Sorry to hear about the side-effects. I'm getting my second shot tomorrow and I've decided that my mindset for any symptoms is going to be happy my T-Cells are doing their thing and my immune system is making new resistance. Not sure if that will help me or not. :)

I had the Moderna series, and yes, much stronger reaction to the second shot. Majorly sore arm and more of a general malaise blaaaaaaah feeling.

However (comma) all of this is much milder than the symptoms of full-blown Covid, from what I hear.

Got my second Moderna shot Wednesday morning. Felt fine the rest of the day with the exception of a sore arm. Thursday I felt a little run-down and achy, but not enough for me to miss work. Today I feel 100% and don't even have a sore arm.

I got my first dose of Pfizer on 4/20 and had a sore arm and felt sorta blahhh (mainly just tired) for 2 days. Today, I'm more or less back to normal. I get the second dose on 5/11, so I'm hoping that it's no worse than the first. At least by the end of May, the vaccine should have fully kicked in, so I might drive out to the Blue Chip to keep my BConnected points from expiring. If I go, this would be the first casino that I've been too since my 2019 Vegas trip.

Out of curiosity did anyone get a skin discoloration in the area of the shot? I have a square patch about 1.5 x 1.5 inches that is dark. Yes, it’s where the shot was. Actually took about 9 days before the discoloration appeared.

Must be the chip starting to activate....:kill:

Did you happen to get the Moderna vaccine? I've heard people saying they got what they're calling "covid arm" a rash that can appear more than a week after the vaccine I think and be small or large. The rest of my family and I got Pfizer and no issues so far.

Two of my friends had a reaction at the site. It is called COVID arm and can happen with either of them. The cdc says it’s rare but it seems much more common than they say, probably because nobody reports it to them.

I've been watching my arm for any blotches, rashes or itchy spots. The closest I get is I've had an itchy spot on my left thumb for the past day or so, but I don't think that's related. I think I'm past the point of Covid Arm vulnerability. If it happened, I would certainly report it, both to the family doctor and the pharmacy.

If there's any silver lining to this {f-bomb}ing cloud, it's that I have not had a single common cold in over a year! I usually expect to have one, maybe two per year, just from the exposure to others.

(What am I doing up at this time of morning on a non-work day?)

I did have Moderna. Two days after I had swollen glands at my elbow area. Figures that was the end of the Covid arm. I found it just odd that the blotch showed up so much later.

Just an update. My brother got a rash over his body a day after taking his 2nd pfizer shot. He got itchy all over too. But this lasted maybe 2 or 3 days and after that the itch went away and the rash not long after that. For him it wasn't a big problem except he would wake up at night scratching all over because it was so itchy.

Did he report it to anyone? They keep saying these things are rare but just from people I know, it’s fairly common.

Not a large sample size, but most of those I know who got vaccinated experienced no side effects. The worse seems to be a rash around the injection site with Moderna. I had zero sides with both Pfizer shots, and the very minor arm soreness no worse than any other shot I've ever received. I suspect the majority of those who don't experience side effects have nothing to report and don't. That being the case, I have no idea how prevalent the sides really are.
