Its telling when other countries will only classify your "bread" as a pastry because there is so much sugar and fat in it

Love a good tuna san or a tuna melt, but I'll pass on the tuna sub. If however, there is a good tuna sub out there, my money's on somewhere not called Subway.

My primary memory of Red Lobster is this anxiety-inducing three-part sequence:
    1. Food arrives.
    2. My dad requests a menu from the wait staff.
    3. My dad asks the manager to compare the picture on the menu to the plate sitting in front of him.

Pretty sure that happened more than once in my lifetime. Yes, multiple times at Red Lobster.

All this heretical talk about Subway...Subway is great. Jersey Mike's is overpriced and overhyped, and only marginally better than Subway.

but a large margin-but I do agree that the prices are a little steep, but quality costs.

I expect (hope) that as more open, prices might level off.

Also Mike's are usually larger and have more meat, so that also needs to be considered.

Note that the Subway directly across from the Red Lobster on Decatur is a combo Subway/Winchell's Donut House! Maybe cap off a wonderful 30 piece shrimp dinner with dessert donuts from Winchell's and a Tuna Sub for later. It's almost like kismet. Almost.

I had a Winchell's/Subway combo right down the street from me when I lived there. I used to enjoy a meatball sub followed by an amazing Apple fritter. Ah, I was really living then...

All this talk about subs has me thinking about going to Firehouse Subs tonight. What I really like about Firehouse is that I can order a sub with the bread toasted and everything else as is. They really pile on the meat and have a great variety of toppings. IMHO, way better than Subway, Jersey Mike’s and Quiznos.

Yah they also have real meat and bread, but I'm perplexed by the pricing comments. They're really similarly priced here in the redneck Riviera, at least by weight.

Haha @MikeOPensacola I was thinking about Firehouse too, while making the above comment. It cost way more than subway or Jersey Mike's here, and is also light years better than subway but then again just about anything other than McDonalds and Burger King are, at least around here.

Subway is the only place I’ve ever seen folks walk out sheepishly, looking both ways to ensure any acquaintances don’t see they’re patronizing a subway. I understand it may be the only place nearby to some, but for those who have options, your dignity is worth more than whatever garbage they proclaim to put in their foot-long “sandwiches” for $7.

Sorry for the subway segue, I just think there’s few things more terrible and frankly, I’d rather starve than eat that garbage.

Back to Red Lobster lol which, frankly, it’s been so long since I’ve been but if I recall correctly, it sure was an interesting place to patronize. That alone is worth the price or admission and, unlike subway, you won’t smell like their food for 3 hours after leaving.

Subway is a great value! Get the sub of the day, you get a 6" sub, a drink, and 2 cookies (Always get cookies instead of chips, way mo' betta') for like $6. Jersey Mike's is like $14 for the same thing!

Although I guess there is a reason you see Subway at Circus Circus and not Aria...hmm.

What hotel would Red Lobster fit best at?

What I could never come to terms with when I lived in NYC was how in the hell does Subway, or any other chain, survive with the plethora of world-class delis that have similar price points to Subway? Mind-boggling.....

Casino Royale or somewhere downtown, but it's exactly on the level of Casino Royale's current offerings.
