Don't remind me. When I was taking the prep I was watching TV when I sneezed. It wasn't pretty. Luckily I put down a towel on the couch just in case of accidents. Actually I put the towel down the night before, after taking the laxative the night before I thought I might have an accident when I was sleeping but luckily the "leaking" didn't start until the next morning after taking the second set of laxative pills and start drinking the prep.

Made me wonder, is this how it's going to be when I get older (can't hold it)? I guess it "depends", lol.

    Rats.

Just came back from my followup with the dr. that did my colonoscopy. She said that there were 6 polyps, one was kind of large.

Unfortunately she said that there were 2 questionable polyps. She wasn't sure if they were precancerous but they were suspicious.

I had a polyp that was 12mm in size but she said it appeared benign. Luckily she removed all the polyps.

Since this was my first colonoscopy she didn't have any baseline to compare. She wants me to come back in 3 years for another colonoscopy to determine if I have any problems.

    rats.

Actually, you're lucky! I'm assuming everything was asymptomatic, so these were all caught before they turned into something nasty! That's what these procedures are for.

As I'm sure I mentioned, my dear aunt, the one who turned me on to LV back in the 1970s, fell victim to colonic cancer shortly after. Had such tests been commonly performed in those days, she would have had many good years left. Unfortunately she did not know anything was wrong until all of a sudden, severe abdominal pains happened. Then it was too late! :(

It was my turn last week. I had some bleeding and they needed to do some exploring. The procedure went fine. They also did a TEE. Luckily they found nothing serious. Now I can wait another ten years.

Three years is good. They can’t be too concerned about it becoming a problem.

Not to worry, MB, the worst part is the prep. Be sure you plan a big meal right after....it will taste better than any meal you've had in a long time.

Yes, it means that as of now, no further treatment is necessary. I'm sure you got the routine admonition to increase dietary fiber and such.

Along the same lines, my Doc has stopped doing the prostate exam. You know, finger up the wazoo?

Jeez, I was almost starting to enjoy them!

And, no, I never heard the sound of a zipper.

Actually I lost 3 lbs the past few weeks after my colonoscopy. Not sure how since I haven't change my eating habits (bad). I was hoping that I didn't have to do another one for 10 years but guess at age 63 I may have to do it every 5 years.
