When you all own your own hotel/casino properties, I'm sure you'll be far more generous with your Comp Program.

I'm platinum and I checked in in the VIP check in at the mirage in January ( my entire group of which only 2 of us are platinum) , got picked up at the airport, driven anywhere I asked around town whenever I wanted all week, and had the same deal in December at the MGM Grand. So it's not just noir. Just a couple of good hosts that put up with me asking for it. Mlife program may suck, but I can't get that anywhere else.

No I never have had to pay for drinks but In 11 years of living in Vegas the only time I've actually paid for a drink was when going out to dinner in a restaurant that wasn't in a strip property. The noir card perk allows me to sit in the penthouse lounge away from the casino, hang with some friends over top shelf drinks, watch a game without 1000 people screaming at the TV's and just lay back and relax.

At the VIP check in (for Gold and above IE the invited guest line) or in the actual special little room at the front door with the free beers and chips? Like I said I was Platinum and I tried and they told me that room was for Noir only even though I was pretty much the only one in there. I felt like a dick. Luckily I had my wife waiting in the normal gold and above line for me!

So basically there's no real benefit to Noir except getting a free beer and chips when you checkin. Sounds like the OP's host was right -- Noir is bullshit.

there is a real benefit to Noir (outside of what you always can get from your host in terms of comps for your play), but there's really only one. that is being able to flash the card anytime, anywhere and getting front of line service. anywhere there's a line you can just walk up to whoever is running the place, show your card and get instant service. it's come in very handy for me on many occasions. actually I get really spoiled never standing in a line and when I get home from a casino and i'm standing in some line somewhere, I want to whip out my Noir card, but alas, they don't care. :(

they also have Noir only events and things that you get invited to, but those are just so-so.

It was in the lounge. My host arranged for VIP check in every trip for the past 3 years at both the mirage and mgm grand. After the host at the mgm grand did it the first time, I've insisted on it ever since as part of my package to stay there. Same way with any transportation. But having a noir card would be nice. It would take me 4 or 5 trips. If you guys can do it in one trip, I don't deserve the same card as you do.

I actually might not make it to the lounge in time tonight or tomorrow either. About to board flight from Salt Lake! I'm gonna use the Noir to jump the line tonight at Aria Buffet. I have 6 comped buffets as part of this trip package.

Anything that avoids a line is a super perk in my book. I wouldn't eat at the Bellagio buffet if I had to wait.

I hear you but that's not just a Noir benefit. You get those line cutting privileges with Platinum and even Gold. Unless you're talking about something else...

Buffet lines are a joke -- all the levels above the starting one can cut it. Even Pearl which is just 25,000 points so even most really low rollers probably earn it.

maybe, I've only ever been Noir, so I don't know. but it's more than just cutting lines at the buffet, i'm talking about just walking up to any restaurant, cashier, bar, etc and being served immediately. after the Barbra concert at MGM it was late and the only place open was Wolfgangs. the line just to put your name down was backed up into the casino and then there was a 30-45 min wait at least. I walked up to the maître d', showed him my card and we had a table for 4 in 2 minutes. I would doubt a gold or even Plat card would do that, but maybe i'm wrong.

Pearl won't do it at Bellagio.

And shifter, you're not wrong. A gold card isn't getting you anything in the situation you mentioned.

Yes it would. It's on the website. Don't know personally because I've only been Plat.

Shifter that is probably right. I don't think the Platinum card helps in situations where an ad hoc line forms -- since usually proper restaurants don't have lines just cafes and buffets where any card Gold or higher gets an automatic line cut. Same with taxi lines for Platinum but not Gold. What you described at Woflgangs isn't a listed benefit for any tier -- just guaranteed reservations are. I imagine Gold is too low to even think about trying that and Platinum might be worth a try but will probably fail since there are so many Platinum holders.

Are there different levels of Plat and Noir the way CET has different levels of Diamond and Seven Star -- which carry different benefits?

no, there's no different levels. but FOL service anywhere with Noir is definitely a known benefit that all employees are told about even if it's not listed on the website. my host was actually the first one to tell me about it. I told her about the long wait at a restaurant one time and she was like, why didn't you show them your Noir card? I was like, because I didn't know about that.

I show the Noir card at The Foundation Room at MB and bam me and everyone with me jumps the line and then we are escorted right to the elevators to go upstairs. It also comes with the obligatory "Are you interested in bottle service, we have a great table for you", which I always turn down.

The website does say it. But when you go to the Bellagio the sign says differently. I have no idea why, but it's true. For every other hotel I've seen it's pearl.

ok that's commendable of the Bellagio. I don't see why pearl should get a line pass for anything -- even if its just for the buffets. Almost anyone with an mlife card would reach pearl within one trip whether they were a really low roller or even a non gambler with the 25 TCs per dollar of hotel spend.

So do you need to be gold to skip the Bellagio buffet line? Or platinum?
