Just checked into Mirage and headed down to play some VP at the sports book bar.
It appears they have removed most of the seats from the bar top VP. There are 5 or 6 machines with seats at one end of the bar and all other machines require you to stand to play.
Not sure if it’s a permanent move or not but pretty disappointing.

I wonder if it has to do with their setup for NFR. I know they have viewing in the sportsbook, and concerts somewhere there. I never went to Mirage during NFR, but was at MGM one year and I had to bypass the temporary stage they had setup in the front area for concerts.

It's the NFR they remove most of the seating around 3:00 or maybe earlier so they can set up for the free concerts that they have nightly in the Sports Book.

The free concerts are usually pretty entertaining and they will have a bar set up with drink specials etc.

Been there the last 5 years. This will be the first I miss since '14. I will be at home sulking.

Thanks both for letting me know. I was hoping it was something like that. I couldn’t image them taking the seats away permanently. But this is Vegas and nothing ever surprises me.
