Vegas keeps trying to get me to go! What is everyone’s opinion of the suites at the Luxor? Which is the best? Best bathroom? Is it worth giving it a try?

I like the suites - roomy and I get them free most of the time. Even if one pays full price it's a great deal as far as suites are concerned. The 2 bedroom is actually the Premiere One Bedroom with a King connector. Some don't like the setup but I think it's great, tons of room... note - I have only stayed in the Tower Suites, not in the Pyramid.

I stayed in what they currently call the Tower Elite 1BR Suite (the large one) a few years ago and loved it. I think the tower suites are one of the best values on the strip. There are nicer hotels, and there are cheaper hotels, but there aren't many better options in terms of bang-for-your-buck. I haven't stayed in the pyramid suites but I gather they have a lot of the same criticisms as the pyramid rooms-- inefficient use of space and some weird temperature regulation issues due to the greenhouse effect.

The only major benefit of some of the pyramid rooms vs the tower rooms would be the cloverleaf tub if bathrooms are concerned (well sort of as it's not actually in the bathroom, lol)

When I stayed in a pyramid room it was really hard for the AC to keep up when you're on the wrong side facing the sun.

Agree 100% with @fugsworth Only drawback is that they're a bit of a hike to the casino.

They are fantastic value for the amount of space.

    I've stayed in two.

The 1,200 SF Pyramid Elite (prior to the renovation). Pre-renovation, it was themed and kind of cool. Post renovation, it looks plain and under-furnished. They have a TV stuck on a huge white wall and so it looks puny and the wires are hanging underneath. The bathroom feels tiny, because the bedroom area is (or was at some point) just a regular room (it has an entry door from the hallway). So the main bathroom is just a standard Luxor bathroom, nothing special. There is an extra 1/2 bath just inside the entrance.

A 1,050 Tower Elite One Bedroom. Plenty of space, but the decor was drab, the furniture old, and again the bathroom was standard issue. There is a 1,200 SF version of the Elite with an extra 1/2 bath. I don't think the main bathroom in any version of these is probably anything special, but I do think I've seen in pics that some of them have updated furnishings in the living area and bedrooms.

So, bathrooms, nothing special. Furnishings/decor, not a strong point. Functionality (fridge, wet bar), fine. "Elite" is a bit of an overstatement I'd say.

If I wanted to stay at Luxor and I couldn't get one of the Elites, I'd step down to the plain 780-ish SF Tower One Bedroom, it's still good value, has a fridge.

Stayed in a Tower One Bedroom last September and I thought it was fine, with plenty of space. Not as nice as other MGM suites, but comped is comped.

That is exactly what I'm hoping for, for my next stay, we have two "Two bedroom Tower Elite whatever Suites" booked...fine and plenty of space sounds quite good, if one wants "luxury"...you don't exactly stay at the Luxor :)

I stayed in one of the Pyramid 1200 sq ft suites because I got a deal so I figured I would check it out. As noted by @fugsworth , SO MUCH dead space in the room due to a lack of furnishings and it constantly stayed cold in the room. I love AC as much as the next guy but this was ridiculous. The Tower 1BR Suite is the way to go...comfortable and spacious...very nice overall.

The cloverleaf tub and the uniqueness of staying in the Pyramid just this once helped drive our decision. Otherwise it would have been 4th time around at Mandalay.

I am in a regular one bedroom tower suite at the moment for the Vegas half marathon and really love the room. It is dated, but spotlessly clean, very spacious, and all of the furniture appears to be clean and comfortable. Nice bath and good water pressure in the shower. Fridge and a wet bar. Not much to fault it for other than being slightly dark despite having lights everywhere.

So is the tower elite 2 separate rooms with a door in between like the excalibur 2 bedroom is?

    Yes.

There's two versions of the Tower Elite One Bedroom. One is 1,200 SF and the other is 1,050.

The 1,200 SF version has an extra 1/2 bath.

The 1,200 SF version used to be called Deluxe and it was bookable separately, but now all you can do is book the 1,050 version and hope they give you the 1,200 version.

And there's actually (I believe) two different floor plans of the 1,050 SF version.

But all of them have bedroom doors.

Since you asked if it's "worth it to try", that's debatable depending on where you normally stay. If you can get comped standard rooms at Aria or Bellagio, or even Park, then in my opinion a suite at Luxor might not be worth it, even if they are pretty serviceable as others have said.

Careful with Aria... the standard rooms can look REALLY dated, chipped furniture and the like...room maintenance there seems not to be on par with other MGM properties (i.e. Bellagio/Mandalay)

Totally agree - I was just there last month and the wear and tear is noticeable. The OP did mention Luxor though, where I imagine the wear and tear is at least comparable to Aria's rooms? And I think overall Aria is better (outside the rooms), so if it's also free, I'd take Aria over a Luxor suite, but if the OP has been to Vegas a million times, I get the pull to try a new bigger room.

Sure, I super agree with you...but the expectations (and prices) are way higher at Aria than at Luxor...as a multiple times Aria standard room guest, experience ranging from "WOW" when it was new to "QUE?" the last few years...im curious how that Luxor suite will hold up...oh, and the price can be divided by 2 as there are two bedrooms. I like my friends, but I also like to snore myself awake, not other people :)

Good point - and I enjoyed my one stay at Luxor, especially some cheaper food options, and the pool is underrated!

I'd agree that its a matter of expectations. Aria base rooms never wow'd me. I was always going wtf up with the tub in the shower? I enjoy using soaking tubs but at Aria it just felt weird being in it due to the shower being there. I will also note that the room I was in at Aria end of last year was really beat. Luxor would have to be really really beat down for me to be like wtf though. Not expecting a perfect room there so I'd be happy with the suites if I chose to stay there unless it was really trashed.
