It also matters where you play. $100.00 per hand at Wynn may mean nothing to them but the same $100.00 per hand at the Golden Gate could mark you as a High Roller.

I'm a certified low-roller. I find $25 bets on roulette hard to swallow. If I'm on a winning streak, Im happy to lay down the cash, but if I'm laying out 25 on each hand and coming up empty, I can go through a couple of hundred real fast and that isn't worth it to me. Then again, bet big to win big I guess

as a rule of thumb i take about 1500 a day, but my next trip in June will be 1000 a day due to the strength of the dollar

i will add on i consider myself a low roller when it comes to vegas. my last trip was 9 days, i caught the terrible cold/flu that vegas offers and was not good at all, according to mlife i did coin in of about 30k over 7 days, and i can live with that, being ill sucked, and this year my winter offer that strangely last until end of june, offered me 3 nights a suite and $250 freeplay with 300 resort credit across each of the mgm's properties, which i thought i certainly did not deserve from that trip lol.

ps, the only jackpot i have ever hit after switching to slots two years ago was on the buffalo machine at Monte Carlo for a whopping $1246 lol, it also nearly killed me trying to get to my room to get my passport without collapsing

3k for a 3 day trip, VP only. I consider that medium roller. Way more than many tourists, bit way less than some/most of the posters here. At least by reading member's trip reports.

Usually budget $2K per day. With some wiggle room to go above that. 4 night trip for March Madness will probably be a little less since more time will be spent watching basketball than playing blackjack.

I usually play VP at the bar which is $0.25 max credits and occasionally will play on slots. I allocate $200 a day for gambling and it's not that often I actually will go through it. I only gamble in day and at night just have a few drinks around the bars.

Another low roller here. I also separate my money - there is poker money then everything else money. I allot $500 a day for poker and $200 for everything else. If i hit a good slot win the I eat better that day :) Poker sucked for me this last trip so I stopped dipping into that fund. As a good tipping lower roller, i may need to start a third tipping envelope - dropped a lot in tips this last trip!

I am a little bit suprised, that people who bring around $500 a day to gamble are considered to be low rollers. Of course thats not near of being a high roller, and especially on this board there are some people who bring much more than that, but I would not call a person with $500 a day a low roller. When playing slots you can generate some nice offers at almost all properties with that kind of gambling budget, so also CET and MLife are happy about this amount of gambling money.

That is what inspired me to pose this question.

Low roller here. My daily budget is averaging $150 for slot play. I think the game matters. $500 on tables may mark a low roller but it doesn't make you a small fish in the slot arena.

I usually start with $300-$500 on the first day of a 3 day trip for BJ and Craps. If I do well the first day then my roll will go up for day 2 and possibly 3. If not, I'll stay at $300-$500 for days 2 and 3.

I consider myself a mid-roller at about $1k per day budget.

I am a craps player, I get a 10K credit line for a Fri-Sun/Mon trip. My wife had a heart attack the first time I did this, but she's come to see that I have never come close to using it all.

Though the first time, I was down 7K one time with a quickness. She wasn't too happy hahaha! But, I got some back and ended up losing 4K for the trip. It was just a terrible run of cold tables to start with that got me in that hole. I don't have a daily limit. I just call it a night when I feel like it. My sessions are usually pretty spread out and only last 1-2 hours on avg. No huge swings for me. Up a little, down a little, back and forth.

To me, rolling status is based on the game played and strategy. On the junket buses, we are all considered VIPs even though the high bet for the night might be what we bring to the casino in sum. Everyone gets a little bit of "show-up" money, free transportation, and, in many cases, extra perks like comeback cash.

So what makes us so special? As a group, we play, play, play one kind of game: the penny slot at $4.00 per spin. And the vast majority (80% or more) of us are at least weekly regulars. In a group of 50, maybe 1 or 2 play VP. A small handful will be at the tables. The bottom line? Average daily theoretical.
