Yes, the ubiquitous Lobster This Big and Steak This Thick ads. First things you saw as you deplaned. They tell me that the two combined into the New Improved Rosewood Grille and closed soon after.
I had dinner at Rosewood Grill sometime in the 1990's when it was located in the strip area where V/P is now. I was in town working a show and our "big boss" spared no expense when it came to treating us well on these trips, especially when it came to dinner, on the company dime. If it wasn't the best dinner I ever had in Vegas, it's in the Top 2 or 3. And that still applies today. Everyone's meal was amazing. It was an "Oh my God you have to try this!" thing where most of us were sharing tastes. The service was perfect. It was a classic, old-school Vegas upper-end joint. And the lobster? That monster he's holding up in the ads and sign was not an exaggeration. One was ordered for the table to share. The meat was tender, juicy and full of flavor. If I remember correctly, our whole lobster was in the $350 range at that time. It was no tourist trap when I dined there.
Tell your friend to get online and make the reservation. Let him clarify which restaurant he wants. Show him this page to let him know there are a lot of options. It isn't fair to ask you this way. It's natural, but not fair. It's like asking "Where can I get a big steak in Vegas?".
Maybe he might want to try this. Danny the Medic opened his video with 8 whole lobsters. They told him he can only get one at a time so he went back 8 times, lol! Showtime (youtube.com)
Nothing settled in but I'm thinking celebrating last of my 30s last week of October. Nothing settled again but hope to see you both if that comes to reality. I figure I'll know better July. Long time away. Just a heads up to my favorite people
Originally known as the "Ye Old Lobster House" before it burned. Was renamed Rosewood after the move. Ate there back in maybe, 1988 on my first Vegas trip. Fifty or so trips later and it remains THE best meal I've ever had in Las Vegas!
