@makikiboy If you cannot get through to them on the phone and you cannot cancel your flights on their website, I would hope HA does right by you. Have you tried messaging them on their FB page or Twitter? I have used FB message to contact companies & I have heard many folks have resolved issues on Twitter.

Sorry @makikiboy Just saw your message.

I'm super bummed about this as I had comped festival tix and room through The D. My new host there even offered to get us a ride to/from the airport and thats a first for me! Looks like they rescheduled the main festival and are refunding the club shows.

This was inevitable. Yes, things were changing quickly and daily so you had to see a total shutdown coming soon and sure enough here we are.

The casinos have plenty of money but it is the workers I feel sorry for, not those of us that cannot go on our splurge vacations. Keep this in perspective folks.

    I'm probably over optimistic.

I'm keeping my May 7 - May 13 trip open. (Man, I did a lot of planning and tweaking for that trip, including tracking the various low buy in daily poker tournaments.)

I just booked a Plan B trip for June 8 - June 11. Southwest still has very good fares (through June 17) and Luxor Tower has good rates, no deposit required and can cancel up to 3 PM on the first day of the reservation.

Hey, maybe I could do BOTH trips? :wiggle:

I was leaving on April 29th, but, I don't know about that anymore. If I was solo, I would hold off until the last minute because I feel pretty certain American would give me my miles back. My friend is going with me though and he's got some decisions to make since he is supposed to get married two weeks after we get back. Understandably, he's getting some pressure from the fiance and we'll most likely be cancelling.

It's still a good 40 days out, and as we've seen over the last few days a crap ton can change within just 1 day. Even though it's been bad changes. it doesn't always have to be that way. Personally, I'd give it until the first week of April to see if any of the bleeding has at least slowed down a bit...but I don't have to worry about a fiance :).

Haha thankfully I don't either. I'm honestly surprised he was allowed to go back when things were normal since I'm such a bad influence lol.

Read and listen: this is a longer- versus short-term thing.

    Know your cancellation provisions.

If the loss of X dollars is not something you want to or can absorb, then the decision already has been made.

If little or nothing goes hard, or if the money doesn't matter, then wait until the time you're due to leave and circumstances will dictate whether you go.

Some places are closed 'til the end of March, others April or "until further notice." Just like my views on religion: "The only thing I'm absolutely certain of is that I don't have the answers and nobody else does, especially those who claim otherwise!" For sure, things won't be approaching "normal" in 2 weeks; and I'll be thrilled if it's only 2 months. NOBODY knows, and the financial repercussions are going to be with us a whole lot longer than the virus!

I think we can all agree now that nothing is for certain. If the experts cannot pin down a timetable, we sure as hell can't. This is my opinion but I think the best thing anyone can do at this point is to not speculate on what we do not know. If there's someone here who works for the CDC, I would put more weight behind their opinion as at least it would (presumably) be based on some sort of factual evidence. Everyone else? I can't see how it helps anything.

Moved May 2 to Memorial Day weekend....that seems more reasonable given the recent turn of events. Flying SWA so no change fees.

Booked 3 trips today. Why? I need some damn optimism at this point wit the sh*tshow that's going on.

    End of April
    Early June
    Mid July

They're all refundable so not really taking a risk.

I'm pulling for you. I've cancelled my flight but kept my reservation for the end of May-early June. Really hopeful that things can get fixed within the next month.

Swoop finally expanded their cancellation for credit window through May, so now i have enough credit for a flight (or even 1 and a half) to use for the next year.

Wynn slots room reservation that starts the day after the mandatory casino closure is the only remainder of my trip.

Well, that and the coupon books ...

That's what we've been waiting for too. The last notice we got only went up to the end of March. It's not a lot of money (about $200 each) but it will be nice to have the credit.
