    Folks,
I have a Caesars offer and would love to see Lake Tahoe. Reviews for both of these hotels make them sound pretty tired and ugly. What do you guys say?
Also, I will not have a car so I hope if I do stay in either, I can get a sightseeing bus for a tour of the lake. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

We have always stayed at Harrah's because we like the vibe better there. However our last two trips were to Harvey's and we actually liked the rooms better than at Harrah's but we stayed in the newly renovated room in the Lake Tower. We did miss the two bathrooms at Harrah's but we managed. Wherever you stay, please try to get a lakeview room. We would stay anywhere just to be at the lake. It's one of my favorite places anywhere. As far as tours go, I would not want to sit on a bus for hours with a bunch of strange people and at the mercy of the time restraints of the tour company. We always have a car and recommend that you rent one and drive yourself. The scenery is spectacular and you can enjoy at your leisure.

We're going next month and I agree with above based on my research.
The Harvey's Tahoe tower (lake) rooms have been remodeled at Harvey's. I believe it's the back Mountain tower at Harvey's that is older and not remodeled.
The pool at Harvey's is outside, Harrah's is inside, neither look particularly big in the reviews I've seen.
There are several fairly recent videos on YouTube.
Not sure on tours as we plan to get a car for a few days once we arrive.
There's a local free bus, but the route that goes farther along the lake is shut down due to staff shortages.

They are very different. Harvey's only came under the Caesars umbrella ten or so years ago. Harvey's is old school and kind of charming in that regard. The casino is more spacious. They recently upgraded their rooms so that is a big plus because there were quite outdated. Harrah's is more popular and (dare I say) more modern. The rooms are slightly bigger. I much prefer the pool at Harveys as it is outside and you can see the lovely trees and outdoors. Having said all of that, I usually stay at Harrah's as I am a creature of habit.
