Chom became my host a month or so ago. Had a host in Vegas and she transferred to New Orleans. I really never ask for much but she did get me a few extended comp nights at Ak Chin and and Harrah’s New Orleans.
Have really only spoken to him twice. Do you know if he is out of Council Bluffs or Vegas? When things kick back up I need to give him a call.

I really don’t. I know in a previous conversation last fall when he was first assigned to me he sounded like he was on-site. When we talked this time he also spoke in the ‘present’ manner like ‘we will be opening here’. My Biloxi host is definitely from somewhere in that vicinity based on his accent lol.

Previously my Vegas host showed up at all properties. I don’t know why I have not a begun to acquire site specific ones at the regional casinos.

Chom is definitely local in council bluffs. He has been my host for a few years. He is truly an asset to Caesars Entertainment. He is very personable and easy to like.

Any announcement on reopening? I'm not sure where Iowa stands, I don't follow the news

There were some reports a while back that hinted of this weekend, but lately it seems to be crickets.

Ok, according to the Des Moines Register, racetracks (not casinos) are free to open now. Casinos must remain closed through May 27.

    Update.

Latest report is that casinos will NOT be opening on the 28th and will remain closed indefinitely. The powers that be are very tight-lipped with any further info on this topic.

No news about casinos opening yet in Iowa. The governor said they are working with casinos currently to reopen safely. Vague. So far, her proclamation ends on May 31, but that doesn’t mean she won’t issue a new one to keep casinos closed here a bit longer. Currently, the only things remaining closed are theme parks and casinos. Ugh. The dogs are running in Dubuque but without spectators.

Yes, the silence is deafening, and said silence is generating more scuttlebutt and speculation than if they came right out and detailed their plans.

The consensus among those I've talked to is that they are doing a low-key "don't open until after the holiday weekend" for fear of getting a "run" on the casinos and a spike in Covid-19 cases. (Mods, please nuke if the speculation is inappropriate.)

However only Horseshoe opening for now.

No date listed for Harrahs. Per the hotel booking area you can book a room in July, however they have a statement telling you that if things change they will cancel & refund the room. So they won’t be rebooking a comped room at one of the Horseshoe affiliated hotels......

The last I heard Harrah's was still closed, no definite opening date.
