    The marathon is on AMC now. Godfather, II and III just finished airing. Godfather is re-airing again (started at 12:22 pm EST) and Godfather II will follow after that. Enjoy!

    The original film cannot be beaten. It does contain one weak scene, but only one. I assume since they had to re-edit the film, they could not reshoot the scene in which Sonny beats up his brother-in-law. Seeing Sonny obviously not connect on a punch bothers me every time I watch.

    The original is the best movie ever made, and Godfather 2 is the best sequel ever made.

    A number of years ago, (1977) NBC contracted with Coppola to edit the first two films together into a single, chronologically-correct presentation - they called it "The Godfather Saga".
    What I appreciated the most about that production were the previously deleted scenes.

    I remember learning that a few years ago. I recall (maybe incorrectly) learning that though they had broken up she helped to care for him during his illness, from which he ultimately died.

    Two brilliant actors. ❤❤❤
