Booked a player's suite in October. I have never stayed at NY NY.
I paid extra for the VIP lounge daily. Any opinions on it?
Might be going alone and have quite a bit of resort credit to use. Planning to go to Gallagher's Steakhouse, any suggestions for other locations at NY.
How is the SPA and massages? Any tips on rooms and/or casino would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    VIP Lounge?

Are you talking about where you check in? They have coffee and sodas. If you ask, the go get stuff in the back room. I know they have wine.

Please tell me more about this lounge.

    As to where to eat.

    The Italian place is good.
Toms Urban on the strip is good, inside and out seating available. Super happy hour from 2-5 and after 11.
America for cafe food is good too.

    First thanks for the response.

Don't know much about the VIP lounge but it advertised coffee, waters, beer and wine. I will look up the info on what I booked  and get back if there is more info.

I would also like to know more about the lounge. I have not seen one there other than VIP check in. How much extra did you pay?

The NYNY spa might be the worst on the Strip. I would skip it and walk to Aria, Mandalay, or MGM Grand instead

Gallagher’s is a solid choice but I haven’t been there in four or five years.

America is the best greasy spoon type of restaurant that I’ve had at any MGM property.

That’s all I’ve got for NYNY.

    Good luck!!!

Called the VIP Lounge Experience. $30 a night. 34.01 with taxes. Sounds like just access to the Lounge and VIP check in basically.

Here is a link to the VIP Experience. I would consider that a real rip off, especially if they charge for each night.

The only real perk is the check in. I suppose some folks might stop to get a drink or a cookie. Drinks are free when playing, so they are covered in most cases. The lounge is not a place you would hang out at all.

If you wanted easy/free coffee, water, beer or wine, then it MIGHT be nice. It is near the pool entrance if that helps.

I checked into the lounge last month whilst staying there, only time I used it. No beers or wine out but I was asked if I wanted anything. Water/soft drinks were available from the fridge, I grabbed a couple of waters. Very small room and not something I would pay for if I hadn't been coded to use it. It's very similar to the Luxor lounge.

Thats the lounge i thought it must have been. It basically the VIP check in. I guess for 30 a night just keep going back for beer to try and make it worth it. It is likely not open early or late but that is just a guess.

Decided to cancel the VIP Lounge Experience. It was a comp reservation and the system said it could not be changed on line but let me remove the VIP Lounge Experience listed as an extra and keep existing reservation. Since I am Platinum, I think I can use the lounge anyway and if I go alone there's no way to make it worth it too me.

    Thanks VMBer's!

Depending on play level - host can surely "code" you to that room. As a Plat it might be okay - but there are funny about that stuff.

I think this is correct. Its been a few years since I stayed at NYNY, but when I last stayed there, you had to be coded to use the VIP. If you have a host, get them to do it. Unless the procedures have changed, just flashing your plat card is not sufficient.

I do, however, think the OP is making the right decision to cancel paying for it. The staff is very nice at NYNY, but that VIP lounge is paltry. if it were out of pocket, I wouldn't pay more than five bucks a day for it

I know you said you had resort credit to burn, but if you are looking for something quick, I love the pizza by the slice at Sirrico's. When I stayed at NY NY a few years, I pretty much lived on it :).

Can't you use the RC at any mgm property and charge back to the room? Maybe have a look next door at the new Eataly - I know that's on my list for my next trip!

Don't want a host at NY NY so I will just wing check in. Have been approached at NY NY in the past. If no access to Lounge no big loss and since I am not worried about the room normal check in would do.

Don't know if you can use at any Mlife in the past they wanted it all at the host property.
