I know that NOIR gets some discount, but does that apply to show tickets? Packages?

Going to "O" for first time and will need 6 tickets, and will use Express Comps. Will I be able to get discount off "rack"rate?

Also notice they have a cool package online that includes dinner at Sensi for $219.

Actually even includes gratuity - which might be a way around EC not covering tips.

I think this will work because you can charge the discounted tickets to your room, and then when you check out, you use your express comps to pay it off.

There is an mlife discount, usually does not apply to the cheapest tickets. It usually comes out to be about 25-30% off, depending on the show. There is no discount, per se for mlife status, such as platinum/noir/etc. It's just the standard mlife discount.

However, the advantage to using your ECs is that you don't pay the taxes, and they are not supposed to charge you the convenience surchage. Some agents may not know and try to charge, but they really are not supposed to.

This is a YMMV thing. A little more than two years ago, I called the MGM Box Office to try and buy tickets to Ka with my EC's. I got transferred to mLife and they hooked me up with great seats at about 35% off face value. These are the block of seats for comped players. Last year I attempted to do the same with Love at Mirage...unfortunately, this time I got bounced around and ultimately wound up at the mLife desk out on the casino floor where they were of little help. In the end, I contacted my host at Aria who was able to set it all up to my satisfaction...in fact, she ended up comping the tickets without touching my EC's in the end.

My recommendation is to contact your host first that will cut out a lot of conversations with people who might not understand what you're trying to do, explain you want to use EC's, and maybe even do the package deal and hopefully they will put you in the comped seats block. These are by far the best seats in the house for any show and especially good for O. You'll feel like they are all performing explicitly for you.

    Captainjack,

You are right, being able to use ECs over the phone is definitely a YMMV thing.

However, if you are in person at the box office, you can always apply ECs as a method of payment to any show at MGM props. For many of the shows, especially the ones that have a residency, such as David Copperfield or Cirque, you also get an Mlife discount as well as the convenience surcharge waived.
