Oh yeah...all the time. We don't hunt for it, but if the coin is in our pathway, we pick it up. DH and I each have found $10 bills on the ground---outside stores.

One time I was picking up shells on a beach and Dh kicked aside a rope covered with seaweed and found 6 $5 bills.

When I go run I pick up change more often then you would think.
Most I have found was a $20, out playing golf... driving through the knee high rough next to out of bounds. There it was buried in the grass. Best bad shot I've had.

    Haha, this brought back memories:

20 years ago at my very first job ever. Working at a QuikTrip convenience store, we would super glue a quarter just to the side in front of the entrance.
Customer after customer would try and pick it up. All the while we were watching from inside laughing our ass's off.
Granted we were not in the best part of town. So a guy tries to pick it up and sees us laughing at him. He walks back to his POS late 70's cadillac, pops the trunk and pulls out a three foot long screwdriver. When it was all said and done, dude walked away laughing at us with his new quarter and we had a hole in our sidewalk.

yes I'm superstitious so I pick them up

found $100 on the floor by the back slots at MC

my buddy and I were hungover and dead broke, our 3rd friend was not and wouldn't try to move our late afternoon flight up
because he was playing $5 BJ (dick much?)

we split that hundo between the 2 of us for food, slots and taxi to airport
few years later that guy became roommates with Pleepleus....and that's how in a roundabout way I found this site

worst $100 I ever found?, LOL

    oo

    I'll pass,
Know of someone that bent over to pick up a Dime,
& lost their balance & screwed up their back, still not right after over $50k of surgeries.
/for me it's bad ju ju & in a microscopic way, my way to help a person less fortunate.
(not that with today's inflation a quarter would do anything good/anyway? lol)

When I was a Kid, there would never be a penny, nickel or quarter that would miss my grasp.
    /payphones were a Kid's Goldmine!

Use to frequent a hardware store, that has a quarter Epoxied to the Floor, (by a joking around employee)
& dam the employees use to giggle when someone would try to pick it up off the tile floor.
The hardware store is now gone, but I bet that dam quarter is still there.
/Home Depot put them out of business.

I will pick up coins but not pennies and usually not in Vegas. i cant stand carrying change in vegas so i have been known to throw it into the street so thats where it comes from.

Around town here I will pick it up.

I will pick up stray trash though just anout everywhere. Drives me nuts to see litter so i will usually pick it up even in vegas. Not all the slapper cards though, they can clean those up themselves but a stray piece here and again yes.

I laughed out loud reading this thread title and I had to show this to my wife, who has stopped in the middle of a busy store and got down on her knees to pick up a dirty penny. Me, not so much...but i'll point them out to her if I see them.

I pick it up and like a couple others stated, I put it in a change bucket and that has added a little over $300 (with other daily change added) to my bank roll on my last 3 Vegas trips.

I can't not pick it up just in case I have bad luck.

It goes in a little pottery dish labelled "Found Money".

I don't have any problems picking up "found" coins, even a stray penny. My Dad always said, " Mind your pennies, and the dollars will take care of themselves." He was a guy who used to work from dawn til dusk thinning sugar beets in the field for a dollar a day during the Great Depression.

I'll pickup a quarter and any bill...

Odd habit for me..when I want to really "win" in a casino...when I walk in, I'll toss a handfull of change over my shoulder...lol, an "offering" to the casino God's I guess...

Only if the coin is inside my own house or on the floor of my car yes. Anywhere else no!
And I will not cash out another person's .02 Cent TITO either! It's not my money!

I saw a guy at Harrah's-AC toss/throw about 5 $1chips onto the floor. He must have lost a lot of money as he had a 'pissed' disposition about him. I scurried after them and picked them all up. I believe at this point they belong to the casino but I took the 5 chips and took them to a BJ table and just gave them to a dealer as a tip. I didn't play, just gave them to the dealer to put into the 'box'. I got kudos from the pit boss who was standing right there which was nice.

Several years ago at the old IP, I spotted a bill on the floor right by a BJ table and picked it up. It was $100 and appeared to belong to one of the players. I returned it amid copious thank you's, and only then saw the security guard within arm's length behind me watching the whole thing! It's probably good I didn't try keeping it.

I pick them up. Wrapped over $500 yesterday and ran out of penny wrappers. Can't bring myself to pay coinstar 10% to count it for me.

Yes,, I pick up "lucky" coins I see in stores or in public areas and put them in my "lucky" coins bowl at home. A year or two ago, I spotted a folded $2.00 bill on a Sam's parking lot. I felt guilty about keeping that, assuming it was special to someone. In fact, I stood there for a while with it in my hand hoping someone would claim it. It is now my "lucky" $2.00 bill.

I also have a lucky $2.00 bill that I got in some change the week I moved to New Jersey to start a new life. It really has been a lucky bill too, because my life has improved about a million percent since I moved here.

With that in mind, I also pick up every bit of loose change I come across and I put it in my coin counter. This year, I have saved up over $20 so far from picked up loose change. It all adds up, just like getting 30 cents a day doing Social Rewards or playing a few rounds of My Vegas per day adds up. People always forget that little things lead to bigger things to their own detriment.

Absolutely! Especially when I walk across the quad after lunch. High school students drop change like you wouldn't believe! I generally find enough for a 6-pack every other month.

Free money is free money, and bending over is exercise I need. ;)
